SPCE Ph.D Civil Engineering: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission to PhD offered at Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai need to appear for PET, conducted by the University of Mumbai. 

Eligibility

• Candidates should hold a Master’s Degree/ M.Phil. Degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks (general category) or 50% marks (Reserved category).
• The applicant should be a teacher having full-time teaching experience of at least two years in Degree College or five years in Junior College.

Exemption from PET Exam:

• Candidates who are qualified in UGC -NET/UGC-CSIR NET/SLET/GATE/INSPIRE/ and any other JRF holder of the body like CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT/DST/ICSSR.
• Candidates who have passed the M.Phil course of UOM or any other recognized university.
• Ph.D degree holder of UOM or any other recognized university.

Selection Criteria

• Admission is through the score obtained in the PET exam conducted my the University of Mumbai, and the interviews conducted by the University of Mumbai
• 70% weightage is given to the PET exam and 30% to the interview.

How To Apply?

• Visit the official website of University of Mumbai.
• In the ‘Latest News’ section, click on the Ph.D. Entrance Test link. 
• Then click on the PET Ph.D. Application link and click on the ‘Apply Online’ link. 
• After successful registration, login ID and password is generated. Enter the login ID and password to fill the application form. 
• After entering all the details, print your filled application form for future reference. 
• Appear for the examination.
• The candidates who have qualified in the entrance test will be called for interview/viva-voce. 
• The merit list for the M.Phil./Ph.D. programme shall be prepared by the University, on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the entrance test and the interview/viva-voce.

• HSC or Class 12 Mark Sheet or Pass Certificate
• SSC or Class 12 Mark Sheet or Pass Certificate
• Graduation Degree Mark Sheets or Pass Certificate (For M.Tech & PhD)
• Post Graduation Degree Mark Sheets or Pass Certificate (For M.Tech & PhD)
• Transfer Certificate (TC) or School/College Leaving Certificate
• MHT CET Score Card of JEE Main Score Card/ Rank Card (For B.Tech)
• GATE Score Card (For M.Tech)
• PET or other relevant Score Card (For PhD)
• Domicile Certificate (If Necessary)
• Category Certificate (Only for Reserved Categories)
• Physical Disability Certificate (Only for PH Category)
• Income Certificate (Only for Students Applying under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme)
