Will I be eligible for the scholarship for B.Tech CSE at SCE Kottayam?

Scholarships at Saintgits College of Engineering are available for B.Tech students, including those pursuing Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), based on academic merit and specific quotas. Eligibility is determined by marks scored in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in the Higher Secondary Examination and/or the percentage score obtained in the Engineering Entrance Examination (KEAM).The scholarship varies depending on different B.Tech departments. For example, for the department of Civil, Chemical, EEE, Electronics VLSI Design & Technology, Food Technology, ME, Robotics & Automation, there is a full-tuition fee waiver scholarship available for those who score 90% and above in 10+2. The scholarship is also given for these departments on the basis of KEAM rank of up to 8000.Besides, the Kerala government also provides scholarships based on scores obtained in the Kerala state board examination. For example, for the departments of Civil, Chemical, EEE, Electronics, VLSI Design & Technology, Food Technology, ME, Robotics & Automation, a scholarship of INR 70,000 is given if the marks obtained in the Kerala State Board are 90%-95%. On the other hand, if the marks obtained in the Kerala State Board are more than 95%, then the full amount of scholarship is given on the tuition fee at SCE Kottayam.

Is the entrance exam mandatory at SCE Kottayam?

SCE Kottayam offers both B.Tech and M.Tech courses in different fields of specialization. For admission to B.Tech the KEAM entrance exam is mandatory. For M.Tech admission, the GATE scores are compulsory.Apart from these conditions, meeting the eligibility criteria for B.Tech and M.Tech is also a must for consideration for college. For B.Tech, the eligibility criteria include passing the Higher Secondary Examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects. For M. Tech, a BE/BTech degree in the relevant discipline is required. Selection is based on the entrance exam scores, followed by counselling.However, there are also seats reserved for NRI quota admission at Saingits. The entrance examination is not mandatory for admission through NRI quotas. Only the eligibility criteria set by the college must be met for admission under this category.

Placement Experience:

Before covid our college had so many opportunities. Even amazon took students. But after covid much less placement. But in 2024 there is a lot of improvement. Infosys had came for placement they are recruiting about 60 placements.

Faculties encourage us to apply for many internships and they conduct site visits once in a semester to increase our practical knowledge.

Placement Experience:

S7 students become eligible for campus placements. Companies which offered jobs are Hexaware Technologies ,Deloitte ,Wipro ,Ernst&Young Virima ,Federal Bank ,Tata ConsultancyServices ,HDFC Bank ,L&T ,Essaf Bank ,Aarbee etc. Almost 72% of students got placed from this college. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, UST, Global, and Speridian Technologies. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3.6 LPA. After degree I plan to get a job or pursue MBA or Mtech.

The college has a decent record of placements with good package overall and especially my btech cs has the highest no pf placements in the colllge.

Placement Experience:

The placement drive is from the 7 th semester and wide varities of job offers are provided from various companies. Some of the companies are Soti, Tcs, south indian bank, ibis, EY, wipro. The highest salary package is 7 LPA and the lowest is 2LPA. In my course a majority of students were placed till the last year but due to recession the placement is considerably low and is about half compared to last year. My plan is get a placement in a good comapany with good salary.

Placement Experience:

Normally 6th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Top companies are tied up with colleges. The average package is around 3 lakh and the highest is 10 lakh. In other departments, 90% of students get placement through college. But in food technology, the placements are only 50% below. After that, I'm going to Mba.
