NIAMT Campus & Facilities
NIAMT Ranchi has a 58-acre campus with world-class facilities. Some of these are mentioned below. Ankit Raj, an NIAMT BTech Metallurgical & Materials Engineering student states that in the first year, students were provided with double seater rooms while from 2nd year onwards, they were living in single rooms. These rooms are quite large for 1 person to accommodate. The mess quality is poor as they barely cook edible food so one has to eat outside on a regular basis. Hostel allotment is done on a freehand basis during the admission process.
- Central Library: The Library and Documentation Centre of NIAMT is rendering valuable services to the Institute and users. It has more than 50,450 reading Materials (Books, Bound Volume of Journals, Standards, Transparencies, Slides, Video cassettes, Microfilms and LRs, etc). The centre subscribes 77 Journals and 1100 e-journals.
- Meeting Halls & Board Rooms
- IT & Networking Cell: IT&N Cell has 50+ Desktop Computers dedicated to provide facilities to Students and Recruitment Online Testing. It manages the Institute Email Application and also provides the interface between the Institute and Department.
- Labs & Workshops: The Laboratory Block comprises of various laboratories such as Sand Laboratory, Metallographic Laboratory, Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) Laboratory, Non-Destructive and Mechanical Testing Laboratories, Spectroscopy Laboratory, Environmental Monitoring and Pollution Control Laboratory, Metrology Laboratory, Forging Laboratory,Composite development laboratory and Computer Center etc.

Ans. Apart from the well furnished technical labs and equipment , NIFFT has in store a very well learned & experienced faculty set which can guide you in any technical direction. Being a compact college it offers you ample opportunities to come up with ideas, research work and thesis documents. You can ignite an idea, get it approved by the institution and work on the project without any bar. The institute provides you with full economic support providing you with ample funds needed for the project. Examples include a 3-d printer developed by students within the campus premises. Another striking achievement is the presence of a Society of Automotive Engineers known as NIFFT RACING. This club was established regardless of the absence of a mechanical department in the college. This club has never failed to bring laurels and perform exceedingly well in national, as well as international competitions.
Ques. Which college has better faculty: NIAMT Ranchi or BIT Sindri?
Ans. According to student reviews, faculties at NIAMT Ranchi are centrally recruited and are knowledgeable. Few of them have international PHDs, thus being with them will give one a better exposure. Regular classes will compel students to study hard. The faculty is quite approachable. On the other hand, BIT Sindri’s major challenge is the lack of quality faculty. In core branches, you can find a few good teachers but the condition is pathetic for circuit branches.
