I applied to scotting church and jis university also. I prefered this college as it is affordable with good reputation and is near my home . It is also affiliated with makaut university unlike the other colleges . The placement is 65%. The eligibility is not that hard to achieve. Minimum 75% in class 12 is enough. Exam accepted in this college for my course is CET

Overall a good college to start your career in the tech industry.

Likes

The curriculum is up to date, the faculties are well educated with enough years od experience, the infrastructure is good too.
The campus is well maintained, the hygeine in the washrooms is average.

Dislikes

The management is not so much helpful, specially the accounts department is not helpful.

Admission:

I didn't applied for other colleges, because I was determined to go in thsi college and this course only. -> You have to give WBJEE for getting admission in this college, there is no individual college exam for admission.

The Most Detailed Review of Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata

Likes

Freedom: The college has a lenient attendance policy. So no need to worry about strictly maintaining a 75% attendance criteria. However, remaining absent for too long may result in prohibition from exams. You can enter or leave college at any time.
Academics: The college's curriculum is easy and the checking of semester papers are also kept lenient. Teachers provide you PYQs and "suggestive questions" few days before the exams. So the college literally forces you to pass.
Placements: The college really tries to bring more and more companies each year. The placement ratio of students here is much better than in most of the other private colleges of WB. But most of the students get placed in a Service based company.

Dislikes

Campus Size: Each year the number of students keep increasing and the campus feels cramped up. The campus is not big and the play ground is very small. Everything feels cramped during events and functions.
Non AC Classrooms: None of the classrooms have AC in them. Sitting on the top floor classrooms during the month of April-June feels like hell. Only computer labs have ACs, other labs have no AC. It gets crazy hot during summers.
Availability of Hostel: There are 4 girls hostel near the college (not within the campus). But there are only 2 boys hostel and the closest one is 850m away from campus. Also the seats available in each boys hostel is only around 70-80 students.

Admission:

There are 3 ways of getting into the college that I am aware of : WBJEE Counselling, Management Quota and Lateral Entry (Thru JELET, for students with a diploma). The lateral entry gives you admission in the second year if you have a valid diploma and appear for the JELET exam. Since i am a regular admission student, i will talk about the first two methods only. There is an exam called West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) which follows the same syllabus as JEE but with a different pattern of paper. If you get a decent rank, you will be alloted this college in the counselling process. If you have a bad score in your JEE exam and you didn't appear for WBJEE exam then you will have to go to the management quota route. You have to pay an additional amount of 2-6 lakhs (depending on the demand, branch and intake of students) on the top of the total fees. My advice is that if you can afford to pay that extra money then go to Heritage Institute of Technology cause they have better placement and location. If you decide through counselling than Narula should be one of your priorities. The overall admission process is the same in all other colleges because they admission is conducted through WBJEE counselling and not the college itself. If you live far away then it may be a problem for you because you will need to come to the college for registration and stuff for atleast 3 times within the span of 2 weeks. My priority list of WBJEE counselling also had Haldia Institute of Tech, Heritage Institute of Tech, Techno Main SaltLake, Academy of Tech, and Narula. My rank was 29k so i was getting Cybersecurity in Haldia, CSBS in Tech Main, CBSC in AOT and IT in Narula. So I chose Narula out of the available options because i didnt want to take any specilisation branch. In 2024, the closing rank of IT in Narula was around 58k in the mop up round (third round). Narula institute of technology - An overview

Likes

First of all the rooms are very spacious, it doesn't have ac but still its nice
The college is full of extra curricular events and all it happens all the times which keeps the students engaged all the tine
Theres a playground which is used for events and students play there it is fun also theres a pool so students can hangout on the pool side

Dislikes

First of all the management is very bad the mentor ship is not good and specially BCA department is overlooked
The infrastructure is BAD, the lifts dont work almost never also theres only one lift for the whole students its not enough
The lift not being functional students have to go to 5th floor by the stairs also the rooms dont have AC

Admission:

I applied for VIT University, Vellore and i got accepted but i couldn't study there cause it was far from my home that is kolkata so due that i couldn't go. But still i would say VIT is way better than Narula institute of technology in every aspect. The admission process is first you have to book a seat through the people in the college admission cell then after a certain amount of time they will call you for admission and then you get admitted to the course

The College Curriculum is too Good, You can learn something big from this curriculum.
The All professors are too good and too much friendly, if you have idea at any topics you can discuss with them and can start work under them.
The College campus is too good you can enjoy when you felling low, and enjoy many type of games on the ground.

Behavior of non teaching staff is very rude.

This is one of the Best private college among the all private colleges, that's hold 3 rd position in the West Bengal among the all private colleges. The College campus is too much good. Whenever you feel low or bored you can enjoy the campus.All the Lab's are the well decorated and has maximus instruments.Students are also enjoy the lab classes.

Labs are full updated and equipped with modern machine and technology and lab assistant are also trained + faculty of lab have strong foundation of experiment.. we really enjoy doing experiment during lab period
Fest of our college is famous although only two fest happens in a year but those are amazing famous celebrity and singer each in those fests .we have two days cultural fest in which we enjoy we dance, sing and have lots of fun activities
Faculty members of our college specially are very intelligent and have excellent teaching skill they always motivate us to do hardwork and they always ready to heols us either it's academic doubt or non academic.

Dislikes

Campus is not much big we have just one big ground which is like a school hoping we have big campus ,I those campus it's very crowded that's the most disappointed things I think have because we never get spce in campus.
Even semster of this college is very short we literally get 2.5 months for even semster this year make us to complete all the things ,we are not able to do syllabus complety and labs experiment have to left in kod.
Machanical labs of our college is very old having very old machin which is not even have machine used in nowadays h.they have very old machin which doesn't use in any field today but due to circullum we have to study that.

Admission:

I choose this college because of my school senior advised me to take admission he study from here and crack very good job ..I applied for other college but got confirmation from this college and I choose this .

Likes

Very safe campus,anti - raging campus, Sinior's are very friendly
College festival are available,many companies come for in campus placement
NIRF ranking, NBA approved,UGC approved, autonomous institution

Dislikes

College is good but outside of college campus is not clean
College campus is small and don't have swimming pool faculty
College presure same time to buy same extra subscription.

Admission:

I like NARULA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY for its good placement, NIRF ranking, NBA approved, UGC approved, autonomous institution for medium rate students. It has Anti -raging campus. Good environment for students.so that's why I chose NiT.
