Admission to the college is through the Odisha JEE, a state-level entrance exam. Admission involves ranking based on exam results, followed by counseling, and is finalized at the college level. The faculty includes experienced members, especially among senior staff, but there is a need for more qualified faculty as some are still learning. The college's fees are high compared to similar institutions, with expectations for facilities comparable to top-tier colleges.
Initially, placement opportunities were limited, but now around 50 to 60 companies visit annually, with about 90% of students securing positions. Tata Limited is a notable employer, offering a CNC operator post with a monthly stipend of 20,000 INR. Students are eligible for placements from the 6th semester, and the training program is satisfactory. A state government scholarship is available for economically challenged students with good rankings, specifically for mechanical engineering, where the annual fees are around 55,000 INR.
While general category students do not receive a stipend, some students receive a yearly stipend of 60,000 to 70,000 INR.
