MIT M.Tech Fees

The total fees with hostel is INR 3,14,060 and the fees without hostel is INR 1,59,660 on a CEETA-PG seat. The tuition fee is INR 90,000 of that, paid INR 22,500 a semester. A GATE seat costs INR 1,39,660 in all without hostel, because its tuition and lab fees are lower. You pay the one-time fees and the INR 7,000 deposit with the first semester, and the deposit comes back when you leave. Mess costs INR 3,500 a month on top.

MIT M.Tech Admission Process

Admission has four steps: write the exam, register for CEAP, fill choices and report at MIT. Anna University's CEAP counselling allots every seat. The GATE list is allotted first and the CEETA-PG list after it. You confirm the seat online, and then you report at MIT with your originals and the first fee.

GATE holders are ranked on their GATE percentile, and a GATE XE or XL paper counts 70% GATE and 30% CEETA-PG. Everyone else is ranked on the CEETA-PG score. In 2026 the floor in the GATE CS paper was 30 for OC, 27 for BC and MBC and 20 for SC, SCA and ST. MIT does not publish the last score that got a seat.

MIT M.Tech Scholarships

The state post-matric scholarship pays all compulsory fees for SC, SCA and ST students with family income up to INR 2.5 Lakhs. The MIT PG Assistantship pays INR 6,000 a month for 8 to 10 hours of lab or teaching work a week. You can hold only one of them. GATE holders should ask whether the AICTE scholarship covers these self-supporting seats.

How do I get admission to M.Tech at MIT?▾

Write GATE or Anna University's CEETA-PG, then register for CEAP counselling. GATE holders are allotted first, to 6 of the 12 seats in each specialisation. CEETA-PG takers fill the rest in rank order. Report at MIT with your originals and the first fee.
