Government Engineering College Barton Hill honest review

Likes

Supportive technical and non technical staff
Working and maintained lab facilities for all departments
Students are likeminded and supportive in academics and otherwise

Dislikes

No ground for sports or other activities
Not much space in the campus so it might feel conjusted relative to other campuses
There could be sometimes frequent political conflicts within the campus

Admission:

I didnt apply to many others but ours is well known for acad3mic excellence so that is one of the reasons. Also the location is very good since its very close to the hospitals and malls and many other landmarks of our state. The eligibility was KEAM.

The friend circle i have there is something that i appreciate.
The locality is nice and there are easily accessible food spots

Dislikes

Space is insufficient there with no separate ground

Admission:

Apart from Barton Hill I applied to LBS and SCT for which i both got admission. And then during the last allotment i got into Barton Hill. The base exam to get into Barton Hill was KEAM. Eligibility is that you graduate with passing marks from school.

The true beauty of GEC Barton hill

Likes

I like the interaction between students as there is only a small campus , so there is good inter department relations.
Girls to boys will vary based on department but I think except for mechanical department all other department has same or more girls as boys and there is civil department which is mostly girls.

Dislikes

It doesn't have a ground inside the campus but there are places available outside which is also near the campus as the college is situated in the heart of trivandrum city.

Admission:

I chose this college because it is a great and reputed college in Kerala and it was near my home .The college was also very supportive of students in startup and other technical and non technical activities.

G.E.C. PALAMU : A. Brief Overview .

Likes

Professors are very cooperative.They will be ready to help you as much they can from their side.
Seniors are also very helpful. Will help you in study , clubs participation.
Campus is lush green and mesh food is somewhat close to home food.

Dislikes

Not much to explore in college as because the campus according to me is not much big
No canteen facility . You have to go outside the college for buying your daily stuffs .
Girls to boys ratio is too much low ,it's about 20:80, and this also when the attendance is full

Admission:

Actually I applied in Chandigarh University , KIIT , SRM, and Quantum University . I even. Done the formalities of Quantum University but when the result of JCECEB COUNSELING came I took decision to take admission in this college as for now I think my decision is good . This college first of all government aided which provides a way better option than other private colleges which I opted for . Also this college might not compare with the other private colleges which I mentioned in so called renowned facilities but still we can get all basic facilities here . And all the above the fees here is very much affordable as compared to all the colleges which I mentioned in my list . Means all your engineering course will be completed in about 5 lakhs . which is very much less as compared to even NIT and IIT. For admission you have to give either jee mains or you can give JCECEB exam but you have to sit in JCECEB COUNSELING to get this college .all information you will get from the youtube about the councelling

Building need to be improved with more facilities
My engagement with campus life and the quality of social interactions was good
Good placements are offered from this college

Dislikes

Teaching staffs could be a bit more friendly
Transportation was a concern since the college buses were minimal
Good canteen could have been provided for students

Admission:

Since it was a government college and there's only 2 in my city. I got it through keam and secured a rank of 4k and got admission here. It was worth it. The reputation we get after graduation when applying for a job is great because of the college I studied. So I would recommend.

High quality of teaching, the teachers are highly qualified and provide great experience for students
Great career guidance and support provided by the faculty. All sorts of internship opportunities are supported by the college
Placement opportunities are available, there is a chance for students of all branches to get placed at really good companies

Dislikes

The campus is very small, classes are cramped and there is not sufficient space for all departments
The basic amenities are very poor, poorly maintained classrooms , canteen and washrooms , the basic facilities are very very bad

Admission:

This college provides high quality of teaching and academic support. The teaching faculty are highly qualified in their own fields. compared to other colleges like CET, this college is very small compared to other colleges. I have applied on college of engineering trivandrum but my rank was low to get admission there. The admission process to the college is done through government portals through various allotments and is completely transparent. The admission process is very affordable.

Being a government college, students have complete freedom inside the campus.
Faculties are very supportive in academics.
College facilities are accessible until night time.

Dislikes

No ground for conducting sports activities.
Management support is not good. Students have to address all problems on their own.
Extracurricular activities are not very active.

Admission:

The admission process is through the Kerala entrance examination that happens once in a year. All students who completed their 12th with science as their core subject can write this exam. GECB is one of the top engineering colleges in Kerala in terms of academics.

Our college has all the facilities for lab and all.
Environment around the college and inside the college were the best.
Teachers were experienced and they clear doubt if any any.

Admission:

I had applied for other colleges also such as college of engineering trivandrum.i was not selected because of the marks I got in post higher secondary exam which was called as keam.we must pass the exam keam for a govt engineering college and we must pass with the highest marks to get admission in college of engineering trivandrum.
