Ques. Does JNMC's MPH programme require any entrance exam for admission?
Ans. No, the MPH programme at JNMC (KAHER) does not require a separate national or state-level entrance exam. Admission is based on merit in the qualifying degree and a personal interview conducted by the university. Candidates simply need to apply online through the KAHER website and appear for the selection process.
Ques. What are the four specialisations available in the MPH programme at JNMC, and do they differ in fees?
Ans. The four specialisations are: MPH General, MPH in Epidemiology, MPH in Health Care Quality and Safety, and MPH in Health Economics and Outcomes Research. The first three (General, Epidemiology, and Health Care Quality and Safety) have a total tuition fee of Rs. 1,41,000 for 2 years. The Health Economics and Outcomes Research specialisation has a higher fee of Rs. 3,01,000 for 2 years.
Ques. Is the MPH at JNMC recognised and what are the career prospects after completing it?
Ans. Yes, the MPH programme is offered under KAHER, a NAAC A+ accredited Deemed-to-be-University recognised by the UGC. Graduates can work with international organisations like WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, national research centres like ICMR and PHFI, government health departments, multinational companies (CSR projects), NGOs, academic institutions, and can also pursue a PhD. The starting salary is typically Rs. 40,000 per month and above.
