Life at AMCH

Likes

The exposure is really good, the daily input of patients is large
The campus is big and it is bigger than most medical colleges.
It is one of the oldest medical college of the county and the oldest medical college of the whole northeast India.

Dislikes

It is located in upper Assam so connectivity becomes an issue for AIQ students
The classroom could have be bigger than the actual size

Internships Opportunities:

It is the normal internship of 1 year for MBBS graduates. Each graduate has to fulfill this in order to officially get the DR. degree. The graduate has to complete this with duties in various departments. It gives the feeling of being a doctor.

I like the infrastructure and also the teaching staff
Hostels and it's facilities and how they are always protective around us.

Dislikes

I don't like the way every patient have to ask where to go

Internships Opportunities:

After the four year program ends a 6 month internship is held for the mbbs student in which an amount of salary is also guaranteed too the students. The internship is a clinical testing for the mbbs students.

Likes

I like that the faculty of my college is very good. They are always ready to help us out and are highly qualified.
The student professor relationship are commendable.
Punctuality and efficacy. Our institute is one of the top college of pharmacy in Assam due to the dedication, punctuality

Dislikes

There are very less social events due to which the enjoyment is low.
If lacks kab renovations, gadgets, instruments and other stuffs due to which it becomes a bit difficult to conduct some practicals.
The infrastructure of the college is not that impressive.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship courses are offered in different government hospital of Assam like AMC, LMC, etc. with an amount of 1500/- after the completion of the course. Our past students are seving different companies and industries like the Quality Pharma.

MBBS in Assam Medical College

Likes

A huge campus widespread in 700 acres of land.
1st medical college of independent India.
One of the largest medical colleges in North-east India.

Dislikes

There is nothing to be disliked as a student.
New hostels are good. There is a requirement of renovation of older hostels.
Mess foods can be done better in few hostels but not for all.

Internships Opportunities:

We can do internship in the same college and also in other colleges if we want. But i advise to do here only. All the facilities and seniors are very supportive. After clearing the course one can do govt. jobs, private practice and may apply for higher courses also.

My dream medical college

Likes

Most important thing I like about my college is its academics its literally the best. Our lecture halls are very well equipped with smart boards.
Laboratories and dissection halls are also very well equipped. Laboratories contains all the facilities and reagents needed.
Here the clinical exposure is the best. We get to interact with patients with different health problems

Dislikes

There is nothing to dislike about my college. Its simply the best. But the college canteen can be improved as the food served is not of very good quality.
Hostels can be improved a bit. Our college is the oldest college of whole northeast so its legacy has to be maintained.

Internships Opportunities:

Since its a Government medical college here we need to go for one year of rotatory internship in all the departments like medicine, surgery, obs and gynae, paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, etc. So here we develop clinical skills and develop knowledge about different types od diseases and disorders and also stipends for our work per month for one year. Work experience is something we can gather from here.

The professors are very good and friendly
The college staff is good,they are friendly.
The class environment is good,good ventilation.

Dislikes

The environment is not friendly some times.
Polution is there , and morr dustbins required
The condition of the hostels could be better.

Internships Opportunities:

We have to do one year compulsory internship after completion of 4.5 years of the course.We are given duties in various departments such as medicine, surgery, gynae, optha,ent, emergency etc. We are given stipend of 35000 approx monthly.

The campus is big with a good senerio. They deal with patients nicely
The teachers are very helpful and classes are held always in discipline
We get much to learn and also provide any medical help in need

Dislikes

The canteen is not cleaned along with the people working there

As the course is new and we are the second batch . Till now there is no internship provided but the syllabus include it and at our last year i.e. the 4th year we will be provided with an intership . Will come back then here again to let you know about it

A Pioneer of Health Development - Assam Medical College

The relationship between the seniors and juniors, as well as the teachers and students here is unique, it's something you won't find in the other Medical colleges here in Assam. Everyone is approachable and helpful.
You get exposure to all types of patients as this is a college of reputation, serving the people in need for more than 75 years now! There are so many people to look up to, great people who have passed out from this Alma mater!
The campus life is great and the campus itself too is so beautiful. Lots of extracurricular activities are available and competitions are held throughout the year ranging from cricket tournaments to cultural events.

Dislikes

Not much things can be told about this beautiful college that I dislike. I'm lucky I got great friends here, great seniors, helpful professors and what not!
But yet, if there is something you'd dislike it would be the hectic schedule here, but obviously that is unavoidable in this line of education. Otherwise everything is great here and you won't regret joining AMC!

Internships Opportunities:

Internship are not offered by companies here. Rather it is mandatory to be posted in the college itself under various departments for one year after completing MBBS. you'll receive a stipend of 36,500rs per month throughout your internship. You'll be posted in medicine, surgery, gynae, radiology, psychiatry, social and preventive medicine, derma, ortho, etc.

Assam medical College is the oldest medical College in Assam so the infrastructure is quite old but they are renovating many buildings

Internships Opportunities:

After doing 4 and half year of studies we have to do 1 year of internship in the college hospital only . During this period we are provided a monthly stipend which is highest in our college as compared to other medical College

I like mainly campus life ground sports activities

Dislikes

I dont like the condition of the buidilngs as they were constructed 70 years ago

Internships Opportunities:

After doing 4.5 years of mbbs we have to do 1 year of intership in the college hospital only. During this period we get stipend which is highest among all over india . But we. Have to many hours of duty so the stipend should be raised
