Ans. Bennett University is known for its engineering courses. The B.Tech CSE program available at Bennett University spans 4 years duration with a total of 160 credits. Additionally, there are 14 minor specialisations available under B.Tech CSE so that students can choose their preferred course. Interested students must have passed Class XII with Physics and Mathematics with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks or a minimum score of 24 with IB Board. The selection process includes the consideration of scores of the best three subjects in Class XII Boards.  Curriculum: Bennett University B.Tech CSE is offered under the School of Computer Science and Engineering Technology. The course offers flexible and modular choices of Minors, Honours, Open Electives, Audit Courses, Two Internships of 8 and 16 weeks respectively, and a one-year internship in the final year. Students are also encouraged to participate in Competitions, Hackathons, Clubs and Societies.  Fee Structure: The one-time registration fee for B.Tech CSE at Bennett University is INR 45,000 and the total course fee is INR 16.15 Lakhs (including registration fee) for 4 years.  Scholarships: Applicants of B.Tech CSE at Bennett University can also avail of scholarships based on their merit in Class XII (Best of 3), JEE Mains 2024, and IB. Bennett University is a better choice for pursuing a B.Tech degree as the university offers B.Tech courses in a wide range of specializations whereas Nirma University only provides B.Tech in eight specializations. The highest package of Nirma University is INR 50.15 LPA offered by Google whereas the highest salary offered by Bennett University to a B.Tech CSE student is INR 1.2 CPA. Nirma University follows reservation criteria based on which it offers seats to B.Tech students and the fees per annum for the All India Category is INR 2,29,600.  Bennett University's B.Tech fee structure is comparatively higher than Nirma University but it also offers placement assistance through various industrial collaborations like IBM, Apple, Unity, SAP, Microsft, etc, Selection at Bennett University is simply based on merit in Class XII scores for B.Tech degree courses whereas B.Tech applicants of Nirma University have to appear in JEE Mains Paper I additionally with qualifying marks in Class XII.  However, the choice of University also depends on Location, Preferred Specialization, Fee Structure, Placement Scenario, etc. Read more

Ans. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), now known as Thapar University charges different fees for different courses. The 4-year B.Tech Fees range between INR 1,95,300 and INR 2,38,600 Per Semester depending on the specialization and other factors. The one-year fee is 4.61 Lakhs . The detailed fees structure for the academic year 2021-22 including tuition fees, hostel fees, and other charges is as follows: For Day Scholars  Annual Tuition Fees: INR 3,20,000/- Other Charges (One Time): INR 55,000/- For Hostellers  Annual Tuition Fees: INR 3,20,000/- Hostel Fees: INR 1,25,000/- to 1,55,000/- per annum (depending on the type of hostel and room) Other Charges (One Time): INR 55,000/- It's important to note that the fees might vary depending on the program, branch of engineering, and several other factors.Read more

The majority of students with good grades end up getting a decent job.  Here are a few points highlighting the CS placement scenario at Thapar University Around 98% of students are placed in the CS department of Thapar University The highest salary package offered is 45 LPA  The average salary package offered is 12 LPA.  Some of the top recruiters include Zomato, Airbnb, Cisco, Amazon, Blackrock, J.P. Ques. Getting CSE at Thapar University as well as Jaypee Noida (JIIT) , which college should I choose?

Ans. Had you asked this question 4-5 years ago, the common answer would have been Thapar University. However, things have changed a lot in the last few years. Here are some reasons why I would suggest you to go for JIIT Noida for your B.Tech CSE- The crowd quality at Thapar University has gone down drastically. The reasons behind this are a 50% quota for Punjab students and the enormous increase in the number of seats. Both these actions have resulted in very low cut offs. The cutoff rank for Punjab students in JEE Mains is 1.5 Lakh+ for CSE department. The closing rank of JIIT Noida for the same is around 51 K+. Thus, the crowd is better in JIIT Noida as compared to Thapar. The batch size at Thapar University is much bigger than JIIT N. Thapar University has a batch size of 1200+ students for Computers while JIIT Noida has a batch size of only 250+ students. A smaller batch size means more placement opportunities and better attention towards the learning of each student. Location-wise, NCR offers more opportunities than Patiala. You will get numerous opportunities in NCR like trade shows, conferences, training, better placements, etc. Gurgaon and Noida are the new IT Hubs, second only to Bangalore and at par with Hyderabad and Pune. As a CSE student, you should prefer Noida over Patiala.  Though Thapar University has a bigger campus of 250 acres, your life will mostly revolve around your classrooms, nearby areas and your hostel. Thus, the smaller campus of JIIT N should not be that big an obstacle. The average package for B.Tech CSE is around INR 13.28 LPA at JIIT Noida, which is better than Thapar University in which the average package for the UG stream stands at around INR 10.97 LPA. Studying at JIIT Noida is also around 30-40% cheaper than Thapar. Thus, at present, CSE from JIIT Noida is a much better choice.Read more

However, as per the official UG placement data for the batch of 2023, 83% UG students were successfully placed from the campus. The highest CTC stood at Rs. 55.75 LPA, and the average CTC stood at Rs. 11.90 LPA.  The list of top recruiters for CSE department of Thapar University includes JP Morgan, Amazon, American Express, Apple, Deloitte, DE Shaw and Co, Samsung, and many other such brand names.Read more

Ans. The placement figures for the CSE branch at Thapar University are good. Some of the well-known brands that visit the campus for placements include- Amazon, JP Morgan, CISCO, IBM, Flipkart, Microsoft IDC, Tata Motors, Alstom Transport, Royal Bank of Scotland, Royal Bank of Scotland (R&D), ARM, Walmart Labs, DE Shaw & Co, MU Sigma, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Sandisk Corporation, Informatica Corporation, Make My Trip.com, Zomato, Oracle, Deloitte, among others. As per the data on 2023 placements released up till now by Thapar University, the number of recruiters who participated in campus placements is 334. 1774 students were placed in total and 1884 placement offers were made. 1664 students received single offers while 110 students received multiple placement offers. During 2022, the average package offered to the UG students stood at INR 10.97 LPA.  Thus, the placement figures for the CSE branch at Thapar University are quite impressive.Read more
