  • In the same domain, max 3-4%. Yes, you read it right. Hardly, any student gets a job in the same domain. The university is not the only one to be blamed here, the students too are hardly interested to get a job in the same domain. Most of the students came here only for better PR opportunities.
  • Most of the students don't get a job in the same field and university does not provide any support in the job.
  • Campus recruitment: They have job fair, with most of  the companies hiring for blue collar jobs. So, it is mainly of no use.
  • LinkedIn/Indeed: Students have to use LinkedIn and Indeed to apply for jobs.

  • Finding accommodation was a struggle in 2023 and was expensive as well. Till date, it has not turned any cheaper. Though, yes, now it is easier to find a room for rent.
  • Online portals: Marketplace and Kijiji. Monthly rent: Sharing- 350-450, Private room- 500-800. Other expenses food+ travel: Atleast 250 per month (including basic food (150 CAD), phone bill (40-50CAD), Bus pass (50 CAD).

  • Most students, after completing their studies, secure either a full-time job in a reputable company within 6-7 months or continue with their odd job in full-time status, e.g., Walmart associate, fast-food restaurant Barista, etc., until they get a permanent residency.
  • It is difficult to get a salary range at this moment and it all depends on the job location, nature of job and position. Students typically find a job via Linkedin, Indeed.ca, networking events, job fair or recommendations. The Canadian education system does not conduct placements like the Indian education system; the student has to do their due diligence to get a job.

  • Most students find accommodations via whatsapp groups, facebook marketplace or Kijiji.ca. However, there are many scams and one should always deal by going in person and verifying the authenticity. Students live in Sydney, Glace Bay, New waterford and all the neighboring areas. Connectivity is via the public transit buses only, which are scheduled as 1 bus each hour on average.

No placement culture here which is very contrasting to India. We have to find the jobs by ourselves. If you have the right knowledge and apt skillset then salary is no bar. And corporate culture is far better than India.

Personally, overall college experience is quite good. There's a lot of things to learn of daily lives. You become a better person as an international students. For most of students getting into the college is a pathway to come to Canada. If you are a serious student then there are plethora of options for future. I'll rate my college and my experience 8 out of 10.

No, any placements the university is only responsible up to degree certificate after that they don't care, you are having a job or not. no tips or further guidance from anybody. related to the university.

This is a so-called university, which offered me a Post-graduation in petroleum engineering in my offer letter, as I have my degree certificate now in that they have mentioned as Bachelors of Petroleum engineering. I don't know how this is fair to me I already have a bachelor's in chemical engineering, now this is done they are not going to change it.

There aint any. Apply for work visa and get a job that would support your PR and then research about placement and salary.

Its a nice community and beautiful location. This side of the country is less established so more scope of development and opportunities. Rest all depends what you looking for!

Didn't have any campus placement, all they had we're for part time jobs as these are difficult to come by here. Basically once you graduate you're on your own. And then you try hard to come out with flying colors.

Because of this picturesque place and Cape Breton being a welcoming place. Moreover my course only had 6 accredited colleges and Cape Breton University is one of them. So why not take full advantage of the area and study at the same time whilst being within the community and growing up. One of the best decision ever made.

As I am a first year student I do not know about job opportunities in the University. But i heard that they help students to get a job by inviting various companies for the on campus job placements for their future benefit

After completing my MBA I decided to study more about specific field. I applied in lambton college for the supply chain management program but I did not get an offer letter for that program and I also applied in University for the same and I got offer letter from cbu,so I opted this University.

The placements depends on the student's capabilities as it's the students choice if they're interested in building there career in the administration or as a health inspector. There are many full time positions that welcome recent graduates for employment giving the privilege of working in the University as a instructor or as a administrator.

I got to know about this University through a friend. Since I am a dentist by profession I wanted to pursue my further education In Canada in the same profession and this University with this particular course opened the gates of opportunities and not just that an additional offer of being a health inspector in Canada which is a very elite profession. The admission Process was done by submitting a application fees of $103 and by showing the proof of my academic credentials in India along with the IELTS exam. It was the only college I applied for because of the friendly nature of the staff and the excellent job and placement opportunities at this University.

I completed a Doctor of Pharmacy from India and I aspired of pursuing higher studies in Canada. My best friend in the college, after her studies, flew to Canada,to one of the most beautiful campuses in the world for public health. My admission procedures was a big story, I got placed within 1 month of after completion of my Indian education( to the best of my knowledge, no one ever had a chance to get enrolled in a prestigious institution within a short span. My friend helped me with all the procedures at the university.
