- They have now closed down their classes at Cineplex due to less number of foreign students coming in. Now, all the classes are being held at the university.
Dislikes
- During 2021-mid 2025 period, there were classes being conducted in the Cineplex (Cinema hall). I have done most of my subjects from there. Hardly attended 2 subjects classes from the university, so I never got the feeling of studying from a university.
- Every year the university increases the fees by 10%, so you should know that.
- For the fees being charged by the International students in particular, the services/facilities that the university provides is not worth it.
Campus Life
- Campus is beautiful with all the required facilities. A very well maintained library (which probably is the best thing in the campus).
- Along with that they have a gym (like 6/10), big indoor Basketball court (9/10), a section of which is given for badminton.
- There are not many established clubs in the university like we have in India's MBA schools.
- Students interested in Research projects will have to reach out to the Professors (a handful of them help students in such projects). I would not say the university has a very developed/known research facility.
Accommodation
- Finding accommodation was a struggle in 2023 and was expensive as well. Till date, it has not turned any cheaper. Though, yes, now it is easier to find a room for rent.
- Online portals: Marketplace and Kijiji. Monthly rent: Sharing- 350-450, Private room- 500-800. Other expenses food+ travel: Atleast 250 per month (including basic food (150 CAD), phone bill (40-50CAD), Bus pass (50 CAD).

- Faculties having PhD and knowledgeable.
- 2-year course duration of post-baccalaureate courses.
- Fun activities that the student union held almost every month.
Dislikes
- Classes being conducted in movie theatres.
- Lack of foreign student diversities. Most people were from India.
- University considers post-baccalaureate courses as money making machines and does not offer enough facilities.
Campus Life
- My university only has one campus. The facilities on the campus are great to use, e.g. Library, gym, tennis court, game room, etc. University also holds regular events to maintain student interaction.
- The initial event week starts with "Week of Welcome," where there are multiple information sessions, campus tours, and live music. If someone is interested in sports, the campus offers various sports—you name it!. Apart from academics, the university also encourages students to pursue extracurricular activities like paper presentations, learning new skills and so on.
Accommodation
- Most students find accommodations via whatsapp groups, facebook marketplace or Kijiji.ca. However, there are many scams and one should always deal by going in person and verifying the authenticity. Students live in Sydney, Glace Bay, New waterford and all the neighboring areas. Connectivity is via the public transit buses only, which are scheduled as 1 bus each hour on average.

- The province provides easy PR and university offers decent education with relatively lower fees.
Campus Life
Campus provides all the facilities and lots of extracurricular activities are always going on.
Accommodation
Finding good accommodation in nearby area is very difficult. Hostel fees is too expensive. Very few jobs available in nearby cities.
Campus Life
Not that much interested apart from studies.
Accommodation
Off-campus. by kijjii.ca, it was good. by networking also. food expense everything is paid by father, there is no jobs basically, so many indian students and it is such a small town not that much opportunites, and university people wont help you with any thing specially about jobs.
Accommodation
One great thing was that there was a cab to pick me from the airport to the room I rented so I saved $15 rest you need to talk with uni beforehand.
Its a nice community and beautiful location. This side of the country is less established so more scope of development and opportunities. Rest all depends what you looking for!
Accommodation
Campus accomodations were exhorbitantly priced with no meal plans where as off campus housing opened more opportunities for students to mingle with the community itself. I loved being within the community.
Because of this picturesque place and Cape Breton being a welcoming place. Moreover my course only had 6 accredited colleges and Cape Breton University is one of them. So why not take full advantage of the area and study at the same time whilst being within the community and growing up. One of the best decision ever made.
Accommodation
I am living off campus because living on campus is more expensive than living off campus. My living expenses are almost around $650 per month which includes 400 dollars for room rent and rest is for meal.
After completing my MBA I decided to study more about specific field. I applied in lambton college for the supply chain management program but I did not get an offer letter for that program and I also applied in University for the same and I got offer letter from cbu,so I opted this University.
Accommodation
I chose to live off campus to explore more places and since we get to spend the entire day in the University for classes and I chose to stay off campus to prevent the monotony of life and since I have a special interest in cooking I like cooking different meals for myself according to my mood as it was compulsory to add a meal plan if we chose to stay on campus which by the way is explicit. I've myself tried the buffet once and It was awesome!
I got to know about this University through a friend. Since I am a dentist by profession I wanted to pursue my further education In Canada in the same profession and this University with this particular course opened the gates of opportunities and not just that an additional offer of being a health inspector in Canada which is a very elite profession. The admission Process was done by submitting a application fees of $103 and by showing the proof of my academic credentials in India along with the IELTS exam. It was the only college I applied for because of the friendly nature of the staff and the excellent job and placement opportunities at this University.
Accommodation
I lived on the off-campus, 7 kilometers away from the campus along with my bestie and other native friends. The house was supported with Wifi and oil burner for heat supply. It was a home having a 1minute walk from the bus stop.
I completed a Doctor of Pharmacy from India and I aspired of pursuing higher studies in Canada. My best friend in the college, after her studies, flew to Canada,to one of the most beautiful campuses in the world for public health. My admission procedures was a big story, I got placed within 1 month of after completion of my Indian education( to the best of my knowledge, no one ever had a chance to get enrolled in a prestigious institution within a short span. My friend helped me with all the procedures at the university.
