Cape Breton University, Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Business Analytics program
Reviewed on Jul 29, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum

4

  • Course is relevant to Business Analytics concepts. It is a not a very detailed program and the university does not focuses on teaching students the coding part much.
  • No Industrial Exposure. There is a semester of internship but you have to find it on your own, the university hardly brings any company that hires business analyst interns. If you fail to get an internship, then you will have to do an online course form the university itself.
  • Mostly 3-4 classes per week depending upon the number of subjects (could be 3 or 4) you have.
  • In 2023 batch, it used to be 60 students per class. Now, I have heard that the number has gone down drastically to below 20 per class.

Admission Experience

  • I chose this University because I wanted to do my education in data analytics and my agent suggested me this university.
  • My overall experience (includes university+city experience): 4/10. There is hardly any point, I have to say in positives about this university.
  • IELTS 7.5 :
    Listening 8.5
    Reading 7.5
    Speaking 7
    Writing 6.5

Faculty

6

  • Some of the professors are really good. Like Samuel Islam (personally experienced) and Enayat Rajabi (other batch mates told me about him).

Campus Life

4

  • Campus is beautiful with all the required facilities. A very well maintained library (which probably is the best thing in the campus).
  • Along with that they have a gym (like 6/10), big indoor Basketball court (9/10), a section of which is given for badminton.
  • There are not many established clubs in the university like we have in India's MBA schools.
  • Students interested in Research projects will have to reach out to the Professors (a handful of them help students in such projects). I would not say the university has a very developed/known research facility.

Part Time Jobs

  • Hourly wage: 15-17$. Not an easy task to get a job in Sydney. Allowed hours of work is 24 hours as a student.
  • Getting a job in campus is only through VERY STRONG REFERRALS. It is a corrupt system, where students already working in the university, get their own people hired.
  • Never heard of any student from any of our batches securing Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), or Departmental Assistant (DA) positions.

Placement

4

  • In the same domain, max 3-4%. Yes, you read it right. Hardly, any student gets a job in the same domain. The university is not the only one to be blamed here, the students too are hardly interested to get a job in the same domain. Most of the students came here only for better PR opportunities.
  • Most of the students don't get a job in the same field and university does not provide any support in the job.
  • Campus recruitment: They have job fair, with most of  the companies hiring for blue collar jobs. So, it is mainly of no use.
  • LinkedIn/Indeed: Students have to use LinkedIn and Indeed to apply for jobs.

Accommodation

Off Campus
2

  • Finding accommodation was a struggle in 2023 and was expensive as well. Till date, it has not turned any cheaper. Though, yes, now it is easier to find a room for rent.
  • Online portals: Marketplace and Kijiji. Monthly rent: Sharing- 350-450, Private room- 500-800. Other expenses food+ travel: Atleast 250 per month (including basic food (150 CAD), phone bill (40-50CAD), Bus pass (50 CAD).

Exams

  • Exams: IELTS scores were required (in 2023).
  • Documents: A set of documents are required including your education records, work experience (if any), Statement of Purpose, etc

Fees

  • For me it was close to 30000 CAD (including 2 years of insurance). Now, it has reached around 35000 CAD (including everything for 2 years).
