I chose this university because of the location of the institute, the course, and the business school. Overall experience is good. Infrastructure is good. Campus is good. Cheap food options. But jobs are not available neither part time nor full time. That's a little disappointing. Apart from that professors are excellent and are very helpful.

Dislikes:

  • The school is academically rigorous which sometimes is good however might be a burden for students applying for Fulltime/ Part time jobs. The University is a little away from downtown region of Toronto where most of the companies are located .

Overall I would say it was a life changing experience when it comes to Schulich School of Business, York University. The staff is welcoming and never I felt I was in a different country because of the people around.

accomodation: 9/10
placement: 8/10

Dislikes:

  • The school has low diversity. null
  • Not enough focus on group activities outside of school work. Schulich MBA ropes in only pro sports individuals. null
  • Low utilization of ancillary business that support the York University ecosystem as a means for intermingling. null

The experience was enriching and pro academics. The B-School maintains a diversity in age groups even though the diversity in nationalities is fairly limited so international exposure is lacking to an extent. Overall a student expects to attend one event a month with the diverse cohort. Overall I would rate the experience 8 on 10.

accomodation: 8/10
placement: 8/10

Dislikes:

  • In terms of diversity, Schulich is lagging behind as almost 80% of the student strength here is from Asia (especially India). This makes a huge negative cultural impact in terms of studies and work culture. null

Overall it is a decent experience. While the amenities are fine, I feel everything is left to the student to find their own job or progressing in their career. I wanted more diversity and better economic opportunities. If given a chance, I would try for a US university.

academic: 7/10
faculty: 8/10
infrastructure: 8/10
accomodation: 6/10
placement: 5/10

Dislikes:

  • Few courses still deal with decade old case studies. Few of the interesting courses are restricted to specialized master's programs and are not open to MBA. Career development center needs a lot of improvement, especially individualized attention, guidance and mentorship. null

Experience with Schulich was great. Helped me build my network in Canada. Fulfilled my primary objective of gaining knowledge on different business functions. It would be better if there was individualized attention and mentorship as few other colleges like Rotman does. Curriculum is mostly easy or not very difficult. I observed that some US business schools teach similar courses that have higher difficulty level with more contemporary cases, math and techniques.

faculty: 9/10
infrastructure: 9/10
accomodation: 8/10
placement: 7/10

Dislikes:

  • One thing I like about my college is the lack of diversity. Although the professors are very good and knowledgeable, the cohort has a majority of Indian students. Due to increasing inflation and other economic factors, studying abroad, especially at universities, has become very difficult and requires a lot of financial resources. The accreditation of this college is very well known in Canada but not in other countries. Very limited opportunities in that case. null

I have had a transformative and enriching experience overall at this university. I was able to explore new interests and grow personally and intellectually thanks to the diverse academic programs, dedicated professors, and vibrant campus life. Participating in extracurricular activities and making lifelong friends have been highlights of my journey. I am well-prepared for my future career and grateful for the opportunities provided by this institution.
