M.Sc IT from The University Of Sydney [USYD], Sydney - Fees & Admission Details 2026

• Difficulty level was not that much - students can easily pass the course - just have to be consistent and attend the workshops/tutorials
• More of a mix of both - theory and practical (assignments)
• I have mentioned both positive and negative aspects in one of the prior responses
• Timetable is flexible - there are so many options available, and students can schedule their own timetable as when they want
• Average number of students - not sure of that, to be honest but in finance course, more than 1000 I guess
• Majority of the University students are Chinese, then some Indians and then other nationalities - but mainly Chinese in my course - around 20% Indians

• Semester Vise Fees - It increases each semester, and I remember there are some student amenities fees as well each semester. For me, it was overall around 21-23K AUD per semester - so around 90,000 AUD approximately in total

Course syllabus is quite updated, and academics, including lectures and exams, both are given very high importance here.

The curriculum is updated, but the number of courses are little less for my liking. They are very oriented in power and signal processing, and limited courses for electronics.

Course work is huge. It keeps us drowned with work load even in weekends. We also have group assignment which is good way to interact with new people.

I choose this university because first its the best University in Australia for my course and I wanted to study in Australia.

The curriculum gets updated continuously based on inputs from the industry as well as from the university, hence can be said the most efficient. The industry related subjects were taught by industry experts. Guest lectures form industry professionals, real life projects, etc, were also included in the curriculum.

It's fantastic. We are given opportunities to conduct research in the last year. The syllabus is updated and the administration is done in a good manner.

It is known for its research and research facilities and is ranked in the top 100. For my course it is ranked 19th in the WORLD.

I think the USYD’s neuroscience and psychology curriculum is exceptional. It is not just theoretical and definitely not outdated. Even though it is COVID-19 season, their lectures have been consistently engaging enough to make such a convoluted topic easy to digest. The course’s assignments have been engaging (e.g.- assigned groups, visual presentations, and weekly tutorials) which made it possible to still connect with fellow classmates and faculty members in a time like this. They have also been very fair in their assessment, putting no student in a disadvantage: they consider the hardships that we are all going through and provides special consideration when we are unable to deliver our assessments on said time (e.g. - replacement exams, recorded lectures). In this past year, I have learned so many useful skills that have helped me understand my own mental processes better. I have also been exposed to their wide arrange of clubs and societies that connected me to individuals with various backgrounds that helped me develop many interpersonal skills.

I was enrolled in New York University as a Business Technology Management student for 2 years. I was 17 at the time and felt pressured by my parents to go to a well-known university to study the same major they did. In New York, I quickly realized that I did not feel fulfilled doing my major, and struggled a lot with my mental health. Mental health is a taboo topic in my home country, Indonesia, and that fact alone fueled my life goal of helping people, and so I took a special interest in the way our brain functions in hopes of advancing science and medicine that would be useful for people in the future as well as removing the negative stigma on mental illnesses. I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and moved half way across the world to USYD as I heard very amazing things about their science and research faculty. So, here I am studying Neuroscience and Psychology in a university that I love.

The style of teaching and the structure of the curriculum is of average standard

It is in the top five in australia and in top two for economics

As a medical programme its great; get to go to the hospital once a week to see real patients from the first week of the programme so it gives great clinical exposure. The lecturers and academics are fantastic in that they provide great lectures and are willing to answer and entertain questions. You get great research exposure too through the MD project component of the programme. They've recently updated the syllabus for new incoming first years so the programme.

The University of Sydney has a renowned globally accredited medical programme which is accepted in multiple countries. Also it is close to home, which for me is Singapore.
