The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, has published the first-round Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) results for KEAM 2026. After downloading your allotment letter from the official portal, you must log in and submit one of three responses — Freeze, Float, or Slide — within the deadline to retain or upgrade your seat. Missing this step can result in cancellation of your allotment.

What is KEAM 2026 CAP Round 1 Allotment?

CAP stands for Centralised Allotment Process — the official seat allocation system for engineering and architecture admissions in Kerala. CEE Kerala runs multiple rounds of allotment based on your KEAM 2026 rank, your submitted preferences, and seat availability in participating colleges across Kerala.

In Round 1, the system allots you the best available seat that matches your preferences and rank. The Round 1 allotment letter is available to download from July 9, 2026. After reviewing it, you must submit your Freeze, Float, or Slide choice and pay the required fee within the deadline announced by CEE Kerala.

Freeze, Float and Slide — What Each Option Means

These three options determine whether your seat is locked in or whether you remain in the pool for upgradation in future rounds. Here is what each option does:

Fee payment is mandatory for all three options. The fee amount is specified in your allotment letter. Non-payment results in cancellation of the allotment regardless of the option you select.

When Should You Choose Freeze?

Choose Freeze if you are fully satisfied with your allotted college and branch and do not want any change.

• You received your first or a top-ranked preference in Round 1.
• You are confident about the college and have no interest in switching branches.
• You want certainty — Freeze guarantees your current seat with no risk of losing it.
• You are ready to begin joining formalities and document verification immediately.

Once you Freeze, your participation in CAP ends. You must report to the allotted college by the joining deadline and complete document verification as per the schedule announced by CEE Kerala.

When Should You Choose Float?

Choose Float if you want to try for any higher-preference seat — at a different college or in a better branch — in Round 2 or beyond.

• You were allotted a seat but it is not among your top preferences.
• You are open to changing colleges if a better branch is available higher up in your preference list.
• You are comfortable accepting either the upgraded seat or your current allotment if no upgrade is found.

With Float, the CAP system automatically checks if any seat ranked higher in your preference list has become available. If it has, your current allotment is released and you receive the better seat. If no upgrade is possible, you retain your current seat. Float gives you the widest scope for seat improvement across all your preferences.

Important: Every preference ranked above your current allotment must be one you genuinely want. If Float leads to an upgrade, you cannot revert to the previous allotment. Review your preference list before choosing Float.

When Should You Choose Slide?

Choose Slide if you are happy with the allotted college but want a better branch within the same institution.

• You like the college but were allotted a lower-preference branch there — for example, Civil Engineering instead of Computer Science at the same college.
• You do not want to move to a different college in future rounds under any circumstance.
• You want a targeted upgrade restricted entirely to your current college.

Slide is the most conservative upgrade option. The system looks only at higher-preference branches at your current college. If one opens up, you are automatically upgraded. If not, your current allotment stands unchanged. Slide is ideal for students who are settled on a college but aiming for a better branch within it.

How to Submit Your Freeze, Float or Slide Option Online

Follow these steps on the CEE Kerala portal to submit your allotment response:

1. Visit the official portal at cee.kerala.gov.in/keam2026/.
2. Log in using your application number and password.
3. Navigate to the CAP 2026 Allotment Response section.
4. Download and read your allotment letter carefully before making any selection.
5. Select your preferred option — Freeze, Float, or Slide.
6. Pay the seat acceptance fee online using the payment gateway as specified in the allotment letter.
7. Submit the form and download the confirmation receipt for future reference.

Do not wait until the deadline. Submit your option and pay the fee at least 24 hours early to avoid server congestion and technical delays that are common near the last date.
