Additional Documents for Reserved Category Students

Students who applied under SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, or PWD categories during VITEEE 2026 registration must carry the relevant certificate during campus reporting. These are required regardless of whether you were allotted under a reserved or general merit list. VIT verifies all category claims made at the time of application.

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) OBC NCL Certificate (issued within the last 6 months) Original + 2 copies

Important Instructions for Campus Reporting

Follow these instructions before and during campus reporting to ensure your admission is confirmed without delays.

  • Report only on the date specified in your Phase V allotment letter. Arriving early or late without prior approval from VIT Admissions may result in seat cancellation.
  • Students from CBSE, ICSE, or any state board other than Tamil Nadu must carry a Migration Certificate; this cannot be submitted later after reporting is complete.
  • The Character Certificate must be recently issued — not older than six months — and signed with the official school seal by the Principal or Headmaster.
  • The Medical Fitness Certificate must explicitly state that the student is physically and medically fit to pursue a full-time B.Tech program.
  • Both the student and at least one parent or guardian must sign the anti-ragging undertaking before reaching the campus.
  • Students who appeared in the 2026 Class 12 exams and have not yet received their original mark sheet must carry a provisional mark sheet or board admit card. The original mark sheet must be submitted as soon as it is issued.
  • Do not laminate original certificates. Laminated documents are often rejected during verification as they cannot be attested or stamped.
  • Keep all documents arranged in order in a clear folder to speed up the verification process at the reporting counter.

How Many Photocopies to Carry

A common mistake during campus reporting is carrying too few photocopies. VIT collects document sets at multiple stages — document verification, hostel allotment, library registration, and identity card issuance. Carry more copies than you think you need. The table below gives a safe count based on typical VIT reporting requirements.

Document Recommended Copies to Carry
VITEEE 2026 Rank Card 3 copies
VITEEE 2026 Phase V Allotment Letter 3 copies
Class 10 Mark Sheet 3 copies
Class 10 Passing Certificate 2 copies
Class 12 Mark Sheet 3 copies
Class 12 Passing or Provisional Certificate 2 copies
Aadhaar Card 3 copies
Category Certificate (if applicable) 3 copies
Passport-size photographs 10 to 15 photos

Self-attest all photocopies by signing across each page and writing "Certified True Copy" along with your name and the date. This is a mandatory requirement for document submission at VIT and most other university campuses.
