UCEED 2027 Age Limit

The age limit for UCEED 2027 is calculated as on October 1, 2027. Students in the General, OBC-NCL and EWS categories must be not more than 25 years of age on this date, which means they must be born on or after October 1, 2002. Students from SC, ST and PwD categories receive a 5-year relaxation and must be born on or after October 1, 1997.

Category Maximum Age Born On or After
General / OBC-NCL / EWS 25 years October 1, 2002
SC / ST / PwD 30 years October 1, 1997

Age is calculated with reference to October 1 of the year of admission, not the exam date. Students who took a drop year should carefully verify their date of birth against this table before submitting their UCEED 2027 application.

UCEED 2027 Educational Qualification

To be eligible for UCEED 2027, you must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2026 or 2027. There is no minimum percentage requirement in Class 12 to sit for the UCEED exam itself.

However, for final admission to a B.Des programme at an IIT or IIITDM Jabalpur, the following minimum Class 12 marks are required:

Category Minimum Percentage in Class 12 (for Admission)
General / OBC-NCL / EWS 60%
SC / ST / PwD 55%

The qualifying examination can be from any recognised board — CBSE, ICSE or a state board — or an equivalent international qualification. Students with a diploma equivalent to Class 12 from a recognised board may also be eligible. OCI and PIO cardholders are eligible subject to meeting all other criteria.

UCEED 2027 Number of Attempts

A student can appear for UCEED a maximum of 2 times only, and both attempts must be in consecutive years. A gap year between two attempts forfeits the remaining attempt.

Parameter Detail

If you appeared in UCEED 2026 and did not clear it, UCEED 2027 is your second and final attempt. If you are appearing in UCEED 2027 for the first time, UCEED 2028 remains as your second attempt — provided you still meet the age and qualification criteria at that time. Students who appeared in UCEED 2025 and skipped 2026 are not eligible for UCEED 2027.

Category-wise Eligibility Relaxations

UCEED 2027 provides age relaxation to SC, ST and PwD students in line with Government of India norms. There is no relaxation in the number of attempts for any category.
