What Is the Phase 2 Sliding Round?
The Phase 2 Sliding Round is an internal seat-upgradation mechanism within the GGSIPU centralized counselling system. Students who already hold a seat from Round 1 or Round 2 can participate to move to a better-preference programme or college if those seats become available. Key points about this round:
- Seat upgradation is automatic — the system allots the highest available preference from your submitted choice list.
- Students satisfied with their Round 2 allotment and not wishing to upgrade should freeze their seat and avoid modifying choices.
- If a student receives an upgraded seat in the Sliding Round, the previous allotment is automatically vacated.
- Students who do not receive an upgrade continue with their existing Round 2 allotment.
- Beware of touts promising admissions in GGSIPU 2026-27 — all processes are strictly online through the official portal.
