In a significant move towards advancing India’s deep-tech ecosystem, Chandigarh University (CU) has announced the establishment of India’s First Center of Excellence (COE) for Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) & GPUs, along with North India’s First Quantum Reference Facility. This pioneering initiative is being developed in collaboration with leading quantum technology innovators, QBIT Force and Qubitech.

Quantum COE

Aligned with the Government of India’s National Quantum Mission, this strategic development reinforces Chandigarh University’s commitment to driving cutting-edge research, innovation, and technological self-reliance in the field of quantum computing.

Driving India’s Quantum Future

The newly announced COE will serve as a hub for advanced research, skill development, and industry collaboration in quantum technologies. It will enable students, researchers, and industry professionals to work on next-generation computing systems powered by quantum processing and high-performance GPUs.

The Quantum Reference Facility, a first-of-its-kind in North India, will provide access to specialized infrastructure and tools required for quantum experimentation, simulation, and application development. This facility is expected to accelerate breakthroughs in areas such as cryptography, optimization, artificial intelligence, and complex system modeling.

Industry Collaboration for Real-World Impact

The collaboration with QBIT Force and Qubitech brings global expertise and industry insights into CU’s academic ecosystem. This partnership aims to bridge the gap between theoretical research and real-world applications, ensuring that students gain hands-on exposure to emerging technologies.

By integrating industry-driven learning with advanced infrastructure, the initiative will prepare a highly skilled workforce capable of contributing to India’s quantum technology ambitions.
