AI-Generated Summary based on 239 Reviews

Admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) {Hons.} program at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is predominantly based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Applicants must prepare for and take exams in specific subjects: Accountancy, Business Studies, and a General Test. For General category students, the cut-off generally starts from around 480/650, varying by year and difficulty. For category-wise cut-offs, it ranges widely - SCs and STs benefit significantly from reservation policies.

Completing the CUET is followed by a multi-step admission process, including document verification and fee payment. BHU doesn't offer a direct or management quota for admissions, emphasizing merit and CUET scores. The university, known for its low tuition fees, enjoys a high reputation and is ranked among the top institutions nationwide. Students typically choose BHU over institutions like Delhi University due to its affordability, brand prestige, and comprehensive support infrastructure.

The requirement for admission is a 10+2 qualification with at least 60% from a recognized board. The campus, located in Varanasi, offers a culturally rich and peaceful environment favorable for academic pursuits. Despite minor administrative delays, BHU is highly rated for its educational offerings, diverse student body, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

I have applied in 5 college such as BHU AU DU BBAU and vishwa bharati Many for BA and BSc course through CUET UG, I got BHU and AU but at the end I have switched to BHU because of it is closer to my home and well known for me. I got seat in AU but same time BHU also, so I have to decide one. I put my seat for upgradation and then BVoc HTM. From 2022, there is only one entrance exam to take admission in all central state University in india. That is CUET common university entrance test conducted by NTA. I didnt apply for any other college or university other than Banaras Hindu University. Arya Mahila PG College is an affiliate college of Banaras Hindu University itself and thus it was alloted to me, on cutoff basis. I chose Banaras Hindu University cause of its cultural values along with good prestige and brand name, along with good faculty and education being imparted here being above the other colleges or universities. The admission process of my college is extremely simple, you just have to apply for CUET UG which is an entrance exam for applying to various universities and colleges for an undergraduate course. Thereafter appear for the exams and get good enough marks which are above the cutoff for Banaras Hindu University. Then fill up the counselling form for Banaras Hindu University and then the seat will be alloted to you for the particular college you clear cutoff for, in my case it was AMPG then you will have to get your physical verification done at the college campus itself, to confirm your seat. And hey, you got an admission already.

Does BHU offer admission only to Hindus?

Pranjal Sapra

For years, there's been a doubt lingering among Indian students. Is BHU for Hindus and AMU for Muslims? Though both universities might include Hindu and Muslim in their names, they welcome students from all walks of life. Candidates belonging to any caste and religion can pursue higher education in BHU.

The university was solely established to promote learning and research generally in Arts and Sciences in all branches and to advance and diffuse such scientific, technical, and professional knowledge, combined with the necessary practical training to promote indigenous industries and to develop the material resources of the country. Moreover, the university also reserves seats for certain minority-category students.

How can I get admission in BHU through a paid seat?

Sapna Malik
Alok TiwariStudied at Banaras Hindu University

To know how to get admission to BHU through a paid seat, you must first know what exactly a paid seat is.

Every year BHU conducts entrance exams during the months of April, May and June. After this, the university releases the cutoff list. The students who fail to reach the cutoff but are just slightly below it are offered paid seats.

The admission process of both regular and paid seats is the same. A call letter will be sent for counseling.

The biggest drawback of paid seats is that the fees are extremely high compared to the regular ones.
