Bachelor of Arts [B.A] [Theatre Production: Design & Technical Production Emphasis] From University of Arizona

This major trains students to work in the professional theatre. The program gives students exposure in all areas of design and productions with emphasis in one or two areas. The potential areas of emphasis in the program are Costume Design, Costume Production, Lighting Design, Scenic Design, Sound Design, Stage Management and Technical Direction.

The knowledge of design principles, historical and cultural research, visual effects, lighting and sound, and craft/artisan skills gained from a major in Theatre Production in the Design/Technical Production concentration forms a valuable career foundation. Graduates in this concentration can pursue careers in performing arts, film and television, community arts promotion, education, and event planning and production.Theatre Production, like many majors, teaches content and skills that can be applied to a wide variety of career fields. This major does not restrict you to a specific field. The career fields most closely related to this major are competitive. Many individuals who graduate with a bachelor’s degree in this major establish paying careers in other fields.
