Weber State University admissions for 2026 to 2027 are open to Indian students who meet a 3.0 GPA floor at UG, a bachelor’s plus 3.0 to 3.25 GPA at PG, and IELTS 6.0 to 6.5.

  • Fall 2027 is the primary intake with a 24 June 2027 deadline; Spring 2027 outside-U.S. applications close on 30 October 2026.
  • The application fee is USD 65 (around INR 6,218) for UG and USD 95 (around INR 9,088) for graduate applicants.

  • Weber State reports a 100% acceptance rate under its open-admission policy, so a complete file meeting the floor is the real gate.

Popular picks for Indians at Weber State University are the Master of Science in Computer Science, the MBA, and the Master of Health Administration. Reviews on Indian forums flag responsive international staff and one of the lowest non-resident U.S. tuition tickets in the western states.

Weber State Eligibility for Indian Students

Eligibility at Weber State sits on two pillars: an academic floor set by the applicant’s prior degree, and an English-proficiency floor set by the Office of Graduate Studies or Undergraduate Admissions. Waivers exist for medium-of-instruction and prior-English-degree cases. Figures below are from the Weber State International Student Services page.

  • UG academic floor: Class XII completion with at least 60% aggregate from a CBSE, ICSE or recognised state board.
  • PG academic floor: Recognised Indian Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (roughly 60 to 65%). Applicants below 3.0 are read on their last 60 credit hours.
  • MSCS floor: Bachelor’s with GPA 3.25 preferred (roughly 70%+); files at GPA 3.0 to 3.24 are read case by case.
Test UG minimum PG minimum (general) MSCS / MSEE minimum

Weber State IELTS Waiver for Indian Students:

Indian applicants who hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited university where English is the medium of instruction are exempt from IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, and Duolingo. Most Indian central and state universities that certify English-medium instruction on transcripts qualify. Weber State also accepts completion of its English Language Institute Level 8 with a B average, or 24+ U.S. college credits taught in English, instead of a test score.

Weber State Application Process for Indian Students

Weber State runs a single online workflow for every international applicant. There is no Common App or UCAS routing; UG and PG both file directly on the WSU international portal. Plan on 10 to 12 weeks end-to-end from portal registration to I-20 issuance.

  1. Register on the Weber State international portal and pick your intake plus program.
  2. Pay the application fee of USD 65 (around INR 6,218) for UG or USD 95 (around INR 9,088) for graduate on the WSU international portal via credit card. Fee is non-refundable and non-waivable.
  3. Upload passport bio page, official transcripts with certified English translations, and English test score report.
  4. Submit the signed Financial Guarantee Form plus a bank statement showing at least the estimated first-year cost.
  5. Track status in the portal; decisions run rolling for most programs, and MBA decisions land two weeks after each deadline.
Currency note: All INR figures in this article use USD 1 = INR 95.66, the live rate in September 2026.

Weber State Admission Decisions and Deferral

WSU issues decisions as files complete, not in batches. A conditional offer may attach if the English score is missing; the applicant can either resit the test or enrol in Weber State’s Level 8 English Language Institute to clear the condition. Deferral to the next intake is allowed once, on written request before the classes-begin date.

Weber State University Documents Required

Weber State asks for the following file at submission. Every document must be scanned in colour, uploaded as PDF, and, where issued in a language other than English, accompanied by a certified translation.

  • Passport bio page: Valid for at least six months past intended entry.
  • Official academic transcripts: Class X, XII, and Bachelor’s mark-sheets, each with certified English translations.
  • Degree certificate: Provisional or final for completed programs.
  • English test score report: IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic or Duolingo, sent electronically to Weber State’s institution code.
  • Financial Guarantee Form: Signed by the sponsor and Weber State’s uploaded template.
  • Bank statement or bank letter: Showing sponsor’s full name, account balance covering one year of cost, and a bank signature or stamp; dated within the past six months.
  • Statement of purpose or personal essay: Required for MBA (one page on career goals) and MSCS.
  • Two letters of recommendation: Required for MBA and MSCS; one professional reference minimum.
  • Current CV or resume: Required for all graduate programs.
  • Foreign credential evaluation: Course-by-course evaluation via WES or a NACES-member service, mandatory for MSCS and MSEE.

WSU Acceptance Rate and Indian Student Profile

Weber State reports a 100% acceptance rate at the institutional level, driven by an open-admission policy: every applicant meeting the Class XII 60% floor and the English score minimum is admitted at UG. This is verifiable through its Weber State ranking band data on Collegedunia and reflected in U.S. News and Forbes profiles.

What "100%" Actually Means for Indian Applicants

The 100% figure covers general admission to the university, not seat capacity in limited-intake pathways like BS Nursing, Radiologic Sciences and Physician Assistant Studies. Those tracks run a secondary application after Year 1 and admit on cumulative GPA in prerequisite science courses. For most Indian UG and PG applicants outside these tracks, the file clears if the paperwork is complete.

Indian Cohort at Weber State

International students make up 8% of Weber State’s total enrolment, drawn from 71 countries. Indian numbers are small compared with R1 U.S. universities but growing, and the MSCS, MBA and MHA are the three programs pulling the most Indian applicants year on year.

Insider note: Open admission doesn’t mean open funding. Weber State’s non-resident tuition waiver requires a 3.25 cumulative GPA on entry and each semester after, so Indian applicants targeting the waiver should push their Bachelor’s percentage above the 3.25 line before applying.

For funding options beyond the tuition waiver, review the university’s official scholarship listings and cross-check against Indian public-sector funding schemes before you finalise your source of funds.

Weber State’s admissions are procedurally open but operationally strict: the file must be complete, financials clean, and the English proof aligned to program floors. Indian applicants who plan the WES timeline, hit the 3.25 GPA line and file 12 weeks early get through predictably.
