Southern New Hampshire University English Waiver for Indian Students

SNHU reviews medium-of-instruction (MOI) letters case by case, per the campus international FAQs. Applicants from CBSE and ISC English-medium schools frequently qualify with a school-issued MOI letter.
Insider note: The MOI route works best when the letter is on institutional letterhead, names the medium as English, and covers the full course duration. Vague one-line declarations tend to be sent back for redraft.

SNHU MBA Eligibility
- Academic floor: Four-year Bachelor’s from a recognised Indian university, minimum 2.75 GPA (around 60 percent).
- English proficiency: IELTS 6.5 overall, or TOEFL iBT 79, or PTE 55.
- GMAT or GRE: Not required. SNHU has waived standardised business admissions tests for master’s programs.
- Work experience: Not mandatory for the full-time on-campus MBA, but 1 to 2 years is preferred and strengthens candidacy.
SNHU MBA Deadlines and Rounds
The MBA runs on the same rolling model as other graduate programs. Priority dates are 1 May 2027 for Fall 2027, 1 December 2026 for Spring 2027, and 1 April 2027 for Summer 2027. Interviews are not part of the standard admission workflow, though some concentrations request a short video statement.
Reality check: The SNHU MBA works well for career switchers and mid-career professionals seeking a US on-campus qualification without a GMAT hurdle. Indian applicants aiming for M7-tier consulting roles usually shortlist SNHU as a safe option rather than a first choice.
Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official SNHU graduate admissions page for your chosen program before applying.
Southern New Hampshire University Application Process for Indian Students
Southern New Hampshire University uses a single-window application flow for international students. Undergraduate applicants can pick between Common App and the SNHU International Application; graduate applicants use the SNHU Application Portal directly.
- Choose your route. First-year undergraduates apply through Common App or the SNHU International Application. Graduates use the SNHU direct portal.
- Create an account. Register with your passport-linked email, set a password, and select the intake (Fall 2027, Spring 2027, or Summer 2027 for graduate applicants).
- Fill programme and personal details. Enter academic history, choose your major or master’s specialisation, and add family and financial-sponsor details.
- Upload supporting documents. Add transcripts, English score, passport bio-page, financial proof, and SOP. See the documents section for the full list.
- Pay the application fee. Undergraduates pay a USD 20 (around INR 1,890) application fee on the SNHU portal or Common App. Graduate applicants pay no application fee.
- Submit and track. Monitor status in the SNHU applicant dashboard. Missing documents get flagged within 3 to 5 working days.
Insider note: Indian applicants who upload a clear WES or ECE credential evaluation with the first submission are processed faster than those who send it later. Front-loading paperwork cuts the offer wait by 2 to 3 weeks.
Southern New Hampshire University Admission Decisions and Offer Timeline
Southern New Hampshire University releases decisions on a rolling basis, typically within 2 to 4 weeks of a complete application. Indian applicants receive offer emails followed by a formal admission packet with an I-20 request form.
- Decision window: Around 15 to 25 working days from the day your file is complete.
- Offer type: SNHU issues unconditional offers when English scores meet the floor, or conditional offers pending final transcripts or an English retest.
- Acceptance deadline: Enrolment confirmation is due within 30 days of offer, along with a tuition deposit that is applied against first-semester fees.
- Deferral policy: Admitted students can defer to the next intake once, without reapplying, provided visa reasons are documented.
- I-20 issuance: Released after financial documentation is verified and the enrolment deposit is paid.
Southern New Hampshire University Documents Required
Southern New Hampshire University asks Indian applicants to submit a fixed document set for international admission. Every document is uploaded on the applicant dashboard as a scanned PDF, and select items must also arrive by courier in sealed institutional envelopes.
- Passport bio-page: Colour scan of the photograph and personal details page, valid at least 6 months beyond the programme start date.

Southern New Hampshire University Acceptance Rate for Indian Applicants
Southern New Hampshire University does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party estimates place the figure at around 94 percent, based on Common App admissions data and undergraduate yield patterns, making SNHU one of the more accessible US universities for Indian applicants.
What Drives the SNHU Acceptance Rate
SNHU’s high admit rate reflects its access-oriented mission rather than a lack of academic rigour. The institution favours breadth of intake, meaning most Indian applicants who clear the Class XII 65 percent floor and IELTS 6.0 bar receive offers. Selectivity tightens for on-campus scholarships and honours-track admits.
Indian Applicant Success Patterns at SNHU
Indian applicants tend to see the strongest admission outcomes when they pair a clean transcript with a specific SOP and an early priority-date submission. See the university’s ranking band for peer-set context.
Insider note: A 94 percent admit rate does not translate to guaranteed merit aid. Indian applicants seeking a scholarship should treat their SOP and academic references as the selective step, because these gate funding decisions.
USA F-1 Student Visa for Southern New Hampshire University Applicants
Indian applicants admitted to Southern New Hampshire University’s on-campus programs need an F-1 student visa to begin studies at Manchester. The F-1 route is issued by the US Embassy or a US Consulate in India after SNHU sends the Form I-20 tied to the applicant’s SEVIS record.
The F-1 process runs in five steps: pay the SEVIS I-901 fee of USD 350 (around INR 33,075), complete the DS-160 non-immigrant visa form, book the visa interview slot, attend the in-person interview with financial and academic proof, and present the SNHU I-20 with the passport for stamping. Financial proof must cover one year of tuition plus living costs, typically USD 55,000 to USD 60,000 (around INR 51.98 Lakhs to INR 56.70 Lakhs). Post-arrival, students register with the SNHU International Student Office within 15 days of entry and complete SEVIS check-in.
2026 update: F-1 visa interview wait times in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata remain elevated through the Fall cycle. Book the DS-160 slot as soon as the I-20 arrives, since Fall 2027 slots begin filling from March 2027.
Southern New Hampshire University Tips and Checklist
The following tips and steps are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Southern New Hampshire University and reflect what improves offer speed and F-1 outcomes.
- File 90 days before priority date: Rolling review favours early files. Submit by 1 February 2027 for the Fall 2027 primary intake.
- Order WES evaluation 10 weeks ahead: WES turnaround for Indian transcripts is around 7 working days once documents arrive, but board delays add lead time.
- Book IELTS or TOEFL 3 months out: Scores take 13 days (IELTS) or 6 days (TOEFL iBT) to reach SNHU, so schedule the test well before submission.
- Use the MOI waiver route wisely: If your school taught in English, request the MOI letter on institutional letterhead naming the course and duration.
- Get one strong LOR before two average ones: A specific letter from a subject professor beats generic references from HODs or principals.
- Write the SOP to SNHU faculty and centres: Name the specific concentration or research group. Generic US-experience essays hurt candidacy.
- Prepare the affidavit of support early: A sponsor bank statement dated within 30 days of submission is stronger than an older certificate.
- Line up F-1 interview slot the day I-20 arrives: Consular slots in India tighten from March onwards for Fall intakes.
Southern New Hampshire University blends an access-oriented admissions model with US on-campus positioning, giving Indian applicants a low-friction path to F-1 study. The Fall 2027 primary intake is open with a 1 May 2027 priority deadline, and the graduate track waives the application fee altogether.

Dislikes
- I don't believe I've had any complaints with my university in truth because I haven't truly faced any difficulties that weren't addressed to promptly whether it is my faculties or academic advisor or even student council
- Also ,There's always someone available to immediately help out with whatever troubles you're facing and most of the time the solutions are received very quickly.
Scholarship
- At the start of the program while applying to the university they had offered me a 55% scholarship which was directly applied to my fees.
- Apart from this due to being involved in various different clubs and my work, I have not really applied for scholarships.
- A lot of my classmates have applied to and received various scholarships and some are also part of a work study program which happens to be very competitive.
- There's a lot of grants and scholarships available, details of which can be found on the website and they also allow credit transfers of upto 90 credits which also helps in reducing the costs of the course.
- One just needs to talk to their enrollment advisor or academic advisor if you are enrolled already and they'll guide you through with the application processes and eligibility requirements of various scholarships and grants also assisting you as much as they can to increase your chances at receiving the financial aid.
