Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison Acceptance Rate 2027

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison acceptance rate is estimated at 79% (estimated), marking FDU as broadly accessible relative to top-tier US private universities. The figure is derived from third-party enrolment reports rather than an official FDU publication and is best treated as directional.

Indian applicants meeting the minimum academic and English thresholds enjoy strong odds, especially for master’s tracks under the Silberman College of Business and Olsen College of Engineering and Science. Selectivity tightens for merit scholarship consideration where the effective cut-off aligns with a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Reality check: A high headline acceptance rate does not lower the visa scrutiny; F-1 officers still expect strong ties to India and clean funding proof, so build the SOP around the STEM career case.

FDU stands out for its combination of a value-priced STEM master’s, guaranteed on-campus housing for freshers and proximity to New York City recruiter events. The trade-off is a smaller alumni base than NJIT or Seton Hall in New Jersey.

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison suits Indian applicants seeking a STEM master’s under ₹60 Lakh total tuition with a clear OPT pathway and a small-campus experience close to New York City. With a $65,000 to $75,000 median starting salary against a two-year investment near ₹57 Lakh, the payback horizon sits at 24 to 30 months for MS Engineering and MS MIS graduates who convert OPT into full-time roles. The F-1 visa pathway is straightforward given FDU’s federally reported I-20 turnaround under two weeks.

FDU is not the right fit for applicants targeting a top-100 QS-ranked global brand, doctoral research funding, or a large Indian alumni network in Silicon Valley. Those profiles should benchmark against Stevens Institute of Technology or Rutgers University, both of which carry higher fees but stronger research budgets and a wider recruiter footprint.

Overview

I opted for this particular college due to their Graduate program connections. They had many joint or accelerated programs that would allow you to bypass your senior year of Undergrad. I also had lots of study abroad options. Diverse student population. Close to the city.

Fees

The tuition was very very expensive. Around $35 thousand dollars per year. However, the school was good with financial aid and scholarship opportunities however it doesn't justify the price tag. It was not worth the price and students should do their research before deciding on a school.
