- The flexibility to take elective courses across schools makes it a great place for people with broad interests.
- Northwestern’s lakefront location provides stunning views and there are plenty of spots for both study and chilling.

- Northwestern’s academic rigour is very high, and the workload can be intense. The quarter system, which divides the academic year into four ten-week terms, can feel fast-paced, with constant exams and assignments.
- Since it’s a private university so the tuition is high.
- The winters are harsh in Evanston making the cold very difficult to bear.
Placement
- Over 95% of Northwestern MEM graduates secure employment within 6 months of graduation.
- Graduates typically earn between $90,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on their prior experience and industry.
- Many students secure jobs through company visits, career fairs, and on-campus interviews organised by the university.
- Internships often lead to full-time offers, as students work with leading companies during their program.
- In my batch, students are getting internships at Cummins, ZS, and Motorola and have received full-time jobs at Tesla , GE, etc
- No such major companies that hire.
- There is a local property dealer called Peak Properties. I got to know about them from my seniors and they explained the entire process.
- There are other apps, such as Zillow, which is used by many people. My accommodation is 1.2 miles away from the university. My monthly rent with utilities is around $650.
- The only suggestion would be to start early to find the cheaper apartments or else you’ll end up getting the costly ones.

Placement
Northwestern students have highly sought after. Career services report a near 100% placement record. There are both on-campus recruiting as well as off-campus recruiting opportunities. Northwestern has a strong tight-knit alumni network and a good percent of people say that's how they received their offers for jobs and internships.
Got into an honors program called MMSS, which has a campus but still within the city parameters of Chicago, great academics, top 10 ranked school, good student life including athletics, clubs.
Placement
This summer I'll be working as an actuarial intern with Liberty Mutual, so I've had good luck with finding internships. It depends on your major though, some other friends have had more trouble finding internships, but the career counselors here are really supportive and work hard to find opportunities for everyone.
First, I'm a Questbridge Scholar who matched with Northwestern, so I was required to go here by contract. I ranked it because I thought it offered so many different opportunities, because of its location, emphasis on not limiting yourself to one area of study, etc. People at Northwestern were kinder and so willing to help me out/answer any questions during my tour, which made me feel right at home.
Placement
The program doesn't have thesis and is a professional program. Median salary : $107,000.
