I enrolled in this college as I preferred a medium sized city to keep costs of living and attendance low, but also to study at a reputed research university. Buffalo also has great connections to aerospace, which is my chosen career field. I have been at this school through two degrees and have to say that I am quite happy with my experience here. I do believe that graduate studies are quite independent, so spoon feeding should not be expected, but this encourages a lot of independent thinking and decision making.
This includes the traditional aeronautics and astronautics applications (subsonic and supersonic aircraft, satellites, space shuttle, space station, etc.) as well as aerospace-related component development (design of structures, devices and instruments), and vehicle and propulsion system design. A variety of industries appreciate and seek the talents of aerospace engineers.
Talented students choose UB because here, they discover new ways of learning. They explore new paths and lead others down them. They become teachers of others and of themselves.
UB is a destination for scholars, researchers, leaders, thinkers and lifelong learners who come here to do work that makes a difference. When you choose UB, you join in the exchange of ideas that is essential to moving the world — and yourself — forward.
