What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the support from the university in terms of part time jobs and availability of TA/RA
Dislikes
- Career fairs were not up to the mark and I had to use external help to get jobs (Alumni are very helpful)
Course Curriculum
- The syllabus was updated, and we had industry experts as professors. We had 3-4 classes a week and roughly 20 students per class.
Admission Experience
- Affordability, proximity to industrial and city areas, greater diversity, and availability of TA/RA.
- GRE was waived off because of COVID, and I had a gpa of 3.6/4
Faculty
- 1:20, professors are industry experts, well-trained, and very helpful. I still have connections with them after I graduated. Prof Rachna Shah, Bill Cooper, to name a few.
Campus Life
- Winters are harsh, but the campus is very lively in the summertime with lots of events.
Part Time Jobs
- As the batch size is small, there is a good chance of getting a TA/RA position. But there are plenty of part-time jobs available on campus. There were decent opportunities for summer internships as well.
Placement
- Minneapolis is a hub of industries in the Midwest, so I would say it was difficult, but with enough efforts you can land a job here.
Accommodation
- You can get a private room for about 500-600 per month near campus
Exams
- TOEFL is mandatory, SOP, 3 LORs, and a resume. GRE was optional.
Fees
- I got a TA discount, so it was $45000 for me for 3 semesters
