What Students Say
Likes
- Great University for VLSI backend specialization.
- Have a really well established arts and business school too.
- Peaceful environment and beautiful campus.
Course Curriculum
- The University of Minnesota is the best or number 1 university for VLSI backend courses and exposure, undoubtedly.
Admission Experience
- Wanted to focus on VLSI, which made me choose this University. An
- IELTS score of 6.5 was the minimum requirement. GRE was waived. Need to have a good CGPA and extracurricular activities. Basically should have an outstanding and genuine SOP to survive.
Faculty
- Faculty numbers might be fewer than expected, but quality is great. Professor Chris Kim is considered as the best professor for VLSI in the whole market.
Campus Life
- Campus is in the heart of the city and surrounded with a lot of fun. An infinite number of clubs, chapters, and sports fill the extracurricular activities part, too.
Part Time Jobs
- Strictly no off-campus if you are a person who follows rules and don't wanna be illegal. On-campus jobs are pretty decent.
Placement
- Networking and placement are great at this University. But generally, the job market and stress levels have been getting worse recently that makes me not recommend the US as an option at all for the next few years at least. Job searches are getting more stressful, and new rules are not helping currently
Accommodation
- Masters student should stay off campus, and there are plenty of off campus housings starting from 500 for shared rooms to 1500 for a luxurious room.
Exams
- 3 LORs, 1 SOP, 1CV with all details crisp and clean. Only IELTS was required back then.
Fees
- 60 Lakhs INR only for tuition for 2 years.
