I have a UG background in Mech Engg. and I chose to go ahead with a Masters in Engineering Management course since I did not want to get into a very technical field hence I chose the University of Michigan since it has a good blend of mechanical and business courses without a very technical or Computer science courses. The fees is affordable and they also give a scholarship. The housing and accommodations are also affordable compared to other cities in the US. Texas also is a good option but the summer gets really bad there. University of Michigan Dearborn is a sub-university to the main campus in Ann Arbor which is a highly reputed and expensive university but Dearborn is also a good one in terms of education. There might not be a lot to do outside of academic terms but it's a good place to be. Career-wise - the students have to build their skills and apply for jobs on their own....Read More

I applied to the following universities: University of Michigan-Dearborn – Admitted  Wayne State University – Admitted  Michigan State University – Waitlisted Purdue University – Rejected  University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign – Rejected Reason for rejection: My Statement of Purpose (SOP) could have been more tailored to highlight alignment with their research areas. I chose this university because the faculty focuses on advanced research, which aligns with my interests. The curriculum is advanced and updated, covering the latest trends in technology and innovation. The admission process involved filling out an application form with all my academic and personal details. After submitting the form, For my program, I needed to give the TOEFL exam.The minimum score requirement for the CECS department is 80. My admission experience was extremely good and smooth. However, I found it challenging to explore research opportunities, which I hope to overcome soon. I applied for the Fall 2024 intake. This intake was perfect for me because it matched my graduation schedule. Most of the students take Fall intake instead of Winter or Summer. The admission process took around two months. First, I submitted the online application with all the required documents - my statement of purpose, three letters of recommendation, resume, passport, and undergraduate certificates. After submission, I waited for my results and after 50 days I got my acceptance letter. Then, I paid $250 to reserve the seat and confirm my admission. Overall, the process was simple and clear. Arizona State University - Accepted 5. Georgia Tech - Rejected (probably cause no research work prior in undergrad) 6. Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK - Accepted 7. Coventry University, UK - Accepted University of Michigan Dearborn 1. Best coursework for Automotive (that fits me) in USA. 2. Very affordable Tuition. 3. Very Standard procedure - Application (2 LORs, SOP, Resume), Decision, i20, VISA, course registration. 4. Language proficiency required. (TOEFL above 80, IELTS), GRE and GMAT is not a mandatory requirement. 5. CGPA should be at least above 7.0 on a scale of 10. 6. Very smooth admission process, usually takes time to get the decision, got mine on April 6, that's pretty late. No such challenges faced I did my application in January 2023. I received my admit on April 6th 2023. I-20 was generated within a week. This was followed by the standard visa application process and slot booking everything was on time. I opted for fall semester as I would be eligible for CPT during your summer break.
