Admission Experience

  • The United States of America was always a top choice for a master's preference.
  • About the university; later on, after having a lot of discussion, research and personal advice, I chose Clark University because of the personalised program that I was looking for, apart from this I got myself a great scholarship and the tuition fees was under my budget.
  • The instructors assigned for this set of courses were renowned professors who worked in the big giants in the tech sector and also took some time to teach us, which gave me real-time knowledge that made my master's and my skills more agile.
  • Location was a bummer as it was not a developed city, to be honest, but the geographical allocation made it even as it was close to Boston, New York, and New Hampshire, as these cities were the spots of bit-tech companies.
  • Career opportunities are something that we as individuals need to find, which I learned quite a hard way as my university is big on networking, and the alumni network was promising.
  • Overall, the experience was a rollercoaster ride as I was doing a lot of things within this duration (TRUST ME, Time flies in America too fast ), and extracurricular activities were blended with clubs, which were diverse from pottery to playing soccer, they had everything.
  • The campus was small, and that was a big pain, but eventually, it does not matter once you understand your work and goals.
  • Overall, it was a big decision which was worth it!! Glad to be in the States and always expressing my gratitude for this opportunity.

Class Schedule

8

  • 3 classes in a week, mostly 6 pm-9 pm and from 9 AM-12 PM
  • Average strength is 40-50 and 95% of Indians.
  • For assignments 2-3 hours max, for studies 3-4 hours which mostly depends on the course and intensity of work.

Faculty

10

Faculties are very approachable. The best faculty I had was for the subject, linear regression, mathematical statistics, data security and machine learning because they were the best of the best ... like maestros of their work. They were very wise, had some in-depth knowledge and always pushed students to learn the subject while making it interesting so we never lose our retention.

Campus Life

8

  • One campus only, which was equipped with all the facilities: huge library, amazing gym, soccer field, baseball field, basketball court, squash court, volleyball court, badminton, karate, yoga, HIIT room, sauna, snooker/8ball pool table, Olympic size swimming pool. You name it they have it!
  • One of the amazing events is our annual event which shows all the amazing cultural feasts, and traditional dances.
  • Another one is called "Sprenaissance Faire" where all the classes get cancelled out and you will see a DJ booth in the middle of the campus and you can booze around and enjoy the day (the best part is they never disclose the date, so it is very random)

Part Time Jobs

  • Indian students only prefer working part-time. Part-time jobs are a lot as it has a lot of opportunities.
  • The pay range can vary from $15-$18 you can work 10 hours a day (Max) and all this money management will be done under your SSN.
  • Not many on-campus jobs as per students' hourly wage is roughly from $15-$18 per hour.
  • Usually, you will get 20 hours per week.
  • Usual jobs are: graduate assistant, teaching assistant, receptionist, library management, dining member, chef, and kitchen assistance.

Placement

8

  • As per the current scenario, it is hard to drop a number or percentage, but on average, in the batch, at the very least, 20% of students get places in MA.
  • The pay range is $45k-$80K annually.
  • Students mostly apply on portals like Linkedin, handshake and via referral as well, the average pay range is $60K for students.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • Via Zillow, you will get most of the accommodation. Once you are a part of this university, they will put you in an official WhatsApp group where the officials and campus ambassadors will assist you.
  • TIP: read the lease and understand the laws and regulations, keep your options open, and stay with people with whom you feel better, which you will figure out while connecting.
