What Students Say
Likes
- Campus: I really love the campus and location of the University.
- Resources: There are a lot of helpful resources available that would help you get a job or internships.
- Diverse Faculty: Faculty is very approachable and friendly and you can easily reach out to them for any doubts.
Dislikes
- Location: The university is in another city near to Boston, that makes it difficult to attend Networking events
- Less Job Career Fairs at the university
- Limited on-campus jobs so you have to make strong connections as early as possible
Course Curriculum
- The course curriculum is not difficult if you manage your time well and prepare your tasks. The class is mix of practicals which includes projects, presentations, assignments and exams.
- Positive is small class size, professor can focus on each student and students can easily open up to ask questions. I did not see any negatives yet.
Admission Experience
-
Applied to below four universities, got accepted into two university, and one with the scholarship. Got rejected from one university due to average GMAT score and gave interview of 2 rounds in Vanderbilt and did not make it to the final list due to average GMAT score. Interview went really good but overall application could not match the expectations.
1. Umass Dartmouth: Accepted
2. Clark University: Accepted with scholarship
3. Vanderbilt University: Rejected after final interview
4. University of Minnesota: Rejected -
I chose Clark University because the program I was aiming for matched with my previous experience.
Admission process was to give GMAT score, write an essay about you and your work experience along with a Statement of Purpose on why you want to do MBA.
Eligibility criteria is GMAT(if your experience is less than 3 years) along with IELTS/TOFEL or DuoLingo exam with a minimum band of 6.
Overall admission process was smooth and very transparent. There were no challenges. -
I came in Fall, 2024 intake because I'm planning to complete my MBA in May 2026 which is in 2 years and the job market is really good during summers. It would be easy to get more job calls during that time compared to Winter graduation, that's why I chose Fall intake rather than Spring intake.
Admission process took around 3 months for the final decision. I started applying for universities in December 2023 and around end of March 2024 I received my admission letter so roughly around 3-4 months.
Class Schedule
- Maximum two classes per day is preferred because one class is of 3 hours. Most graduate classes start in the afternoon at 3 and the last class is in the evening from 6-9pm.
- Average class size is 30 people
- About more than 50% of students are Indians.
Faculty
- The faulty to student ratio is 9:1. I think the ratio is great since we can approach faculty during their student hours.
- Teaching methodology is a mix of practical and theoretical, and we get to work on a project where we apply the learnings or do a case study or simulations to understand the topic in detail.
- Few of the faculty do help students by connecting them to people who can help in job interviews.
- I admire Brian Mulcahy; he is a professor of the Data-Driven Decision Making course, which I took this semester. He's an amazing professor and makes the concept so easy for us to understand by giving real-world examples or scenarios.
Campus Life
- There is only one campus of Clark University, which is in Worcester, Massachusetts.
- Facilities available are the library, sports building, which includes almost every court, medical services, on-campus police, campus shuttle for students that do pick/drop in 5-mile radius, gaming floor, and halls for events.
- The major campus festival is Spree Day, which happens in April. All the classes get cancelled that day and we get notified in the morning. The major club is the American Marketing Association chapter, which does major events in the university.
- There are many sports tournaments that happen throughout the year, like cricket, football, basketball, badminton, volleyball, softball, etc
Part Time Jobs
- Very limited students secure TA, RA or on-campus jobs because it's a small campus with limited opportunities.
- Pay range is $15/hr which is the minimum amount
- Other on-campus jobs include, cafeteria, Lab assistant, Help desk of many departments, College Ambassador etc
- Maximum hours of work allowed is 20 hours per week for International Students.
- Its difficult to secure on-campus jobs unless you have strong connections with the faculty and you have performed well in the academics.
- Average pay is $15/hr for any on-campus job. Its difficult to secure on-campus jobs unless you have strong connections with the faculty and you have performed well in the academics. Students have to apply for jobs on the portal and submit their CV along with Cover Letter. Based on that the professor finalizes the candidate for that position by having a small interview.
Placement
- Around 70% of the Graduate students get a job within 3 months of graduation.
- Average salary depends on the profile but on average it is around $80,000 per year.
- Students apply on multiple job searching websites like LinkedIn, Indeed and Handshake for full-time jobs.
- Most of the batch mates get a job good after graduation and the experience is mix of both frustrating and fruitful because it is a long process.
- There is not one particular company or companies that hire but there are many companies around US which hires.
Accommodation
- I opted for off-campus housing. I found this accommodation through the website provided by the university.
- Monthly rent is $600, which includes electricity and washing service.
- The challenge was to finalise the accommodation online and through video calls with owners, which required me to blindly trust that person.
- There are many places that get vacated every semester because people graduate and they're available all the time.
- My accommodation is 200 m from the university. And most of the Indian students stay off campus because it's cheaper compared to on-campus housing.
Exams
- GMAT or GRE is required for Masters along with any English proficiency exam like IELTS or TOEFL. I gave GMAT and IELTS exams.
- Documents required: CV, Essay about you, State of Purpose, Two Letter of Recommendation from colleagues, GMAT Score, and IELTS report.
- Interview is optional; if they feel they application is strong then no interview is required but interview has happened for few people.

- Tuition fee for MBA: $59,700 but Clark gives minimum 15% scholarship to everyone.
- I received 30% scholarship, after that my fees is: $41,790
- Hostel for graduate students is optional, you can pay upto 1 year lease that roughly around: $25,000 (You can lease minimum of 6 months)
- Monthly expenses of off-campus housing is: Rent: $600(average)
- Utilities & bills: $50-60
- Groceries: $50
Scholarship
- Yes, I received Dean's scholarship of 30%.
- Award amount is roughly around: $20,000
- Almost everyone received scholarship as minimum as 15% and as maximum as 75%
- On average, almost everyone receives scholarship but that totally depends your application and work experience. Many people have tied-up with Up-grad & Miles Education so on average they have received 40% scholarship.
