The University of Florida is a good example of an educational hub. It has a nice weather and a good city atmosphere.
Course Curriculum
Research and the ranking of the university. University of Florida is top tier university. Also Florida state is very popular destination and ha many food industries. The research experience and curriculum great. But there is less industry experience.
Faculty
No, I recieved teaching and research assistantship. Faculty are good and are approachable. There are many diverse researches you could take part on. The graduate classes are not crowded so students are recognized by their professors. It’s easy to communicate with them.
Campus Life
There are some great resources on campus like libraries, gym, eating places, food courts and sports events. However, the food science department itself doesn’t have much students resources, graduate student office or work computers, and break room. Gainesville is affordable compared to other cities in Florida. There are on campus and off campus housing. Also, shared dorms for undergrads.

I had two rounds of interviews with a professor whom I contacted for the RA position. I had to prepare a presentation about my academic and non academic background, research experience, teaching experience and extracurricular. Also UF SPEAK test is must since almost every graduate student will have to TA.
Fees
Approximately 12000 USD per semester. But it is covered if you get TA/RA assistantship
