Admission Experience
-
University of florida - admitted
Michigan state university- got offer letterI got admitted to University of florida.(UF)
Yes I got rejection from 2 university-Purdue university- rejected
Ohio state university- rejected -
For Ohio state university I think probably lack of research experience or lack of a research paper can be a cause of my rejection and also they gives important to GRE score though it's not mandatory but if you have a good score it can help.
For purdue my guess is that probably they admitted lots of students in the field of area that I wanted to work in last year so this year there was a very less vacancies for those area so it was a tough competition and also research paper can play a great role. The most important thing is the LOR. If you are taking LOR from a person who have a great recognisation will boost your application for sure. - Among the 2 colleges I got offer letter UF was best option for me because the field I wanted to do research was much more advance in UF rather than MSU.
- I applied through there central admission portal.
- For the application I had to submit my transcript of bachelor's and Masters and my Toefl score.
- And needed 3 LOR from my professors.
- So the minimum score in TOEFL should be 85 and in speaking 23. With a GPA of around 3 out of 4.
- The overall admission experience was smooth. Within one month of application deadline I got my offer letter and I accepted that. After that the university issued me my I20 and I applied for DS 160. And applied for Visa and got the visa smoothly.
- I applied for PhD in chemistry as a student of Chemistry I wanted to do research in the field of organic chemistry and as a result I applied to UF as the research facility and technology there is very much advance.
- I filled the application form on Nov 2023. Then after 1 and half month I got my offer letter in January 1st week. Then after some time I accepted the offer letter through mail.
- Then after 1 month they send issued me my I20.
- Then there was some virtual tours of the university and zoom meet with faculties took place. Then we got our Institute mail id's and our Institute student profile. Then we applied for DS 160 on the month of April and then applied for visa on may and got my visa issued by the end of may. Then we came Here at University on August and submitted the final marksheet and transcript hard copy to complete the registration process.

- Most of the teacher uses both boards and power point presentation to teach in the class. They also upload every class material in online portal so If you miss any class you don't have to worry much about that. Usually faculties don't help students to find part time job there are specified persons for that. Every faculty member is admirable they will always listen to you and your problems.

You are eligible enough and good in communication you will get jobs easily. They can apply through their departments HR office or they can get recommendations from a certain person to get a job. And also every year university organizes a workshop where people come to hire students for the part time jobs. Thats the best time to get a job.
