It is a good university to study at. The campus life is good, the academic aspect is good. The only downside is that it is a bit expensive if there's no scholarship. Weigh the options well.
Course Curriculum
I chose UT Dallas because I liked the flexibility of the curriculum here. The MSBA Flex program gives me the option to choose electives from 10 different tracks, which strengthens my profile. Another reason that made me choose it is because of the scholarship. I chose this particular program both out of interest and also the flexibility in choosing courses.
Faculty
Most of the courses are relevant to the current industry standard. Some of them, depending on the professors, may be old-fashioned. I like the education system here. It is full of assignments and homework. Not much industrial exposure or research experience is given yet because the focus of my course is not that. And these can be achieved with your own interest rather from the course's side. The faculty to student ratio is about 1:50 in a class. They are very friendly and responsive. One of the professors I admire the most is Dr. Tristan Whalen.
Campus Life
The university infrastructure is very good and is well-equipped. There are several student organizations ranging from fun to technical. The library has the required materials and is accessible digitally too. The campus has reliable WiFi. There is plenty of space for sports grounds. There are 2 huge areas designated for various sports. The university also has sports competitions. There is a gym too which is free of cost to students. Overall, the campus is fun.
Placement
I am in the 2nd semester. I haven't applied to any jobs yet. But from what I see, there are a lot of job fairs being held. So I think that there is a good chance of reaching out to top companies.
Accommodation
I live out of the campus. There are several options for students. They are all connected to the campus with convenient bus routes. Students mostly opt for 2B2Bs where the rent is approximately $2000-2200. Some popular apartment options are Estates on Frankford, Estates of Richardson, Marquis at Waterview, Pearl at Frankford, Pradera, Northside, etc.
Fees
The tuition fee is about $17000 per semester (usually for 3 courses).
Scholarship
Dean's Excellence Scholarship worth $1000 and eligibility for in-state tuition fee (which is about 50% lesser than the original fee). The application process for the scholarship is to just apply on the scholarship portal. They will give the decision after comparing the overall profile of the student.
