Required Exams for Admission

TOEFL (115)
SAT (1360)

I had a great experience. I made a lot of friends. If someone makes an effort to be involved and meet new people it’s really easy to do so. The campus is great, lot of restaurants on campus. Buffalo as a city doesn’t have much to do though.

Course Curriculum

8

The courses were structured really well. I thought that most courses taught me a lot. I did have to take some courses that I had no interest in like music and history. Didn’t like that very much. If you get to choose professors, definitely try rate my professor to figure out which professor is better.

Faculty

9

Most professors were really great and friendly. They were all well prepared for classes and answered all questions well. The faculty to student ratio varies by class. For two years I was taking generic courses so the class ratio was pretty high. (300 students to 1 professor). The next two years I had more specialized course, so the ratio was a lot less (13 students per 1 Professor). Dr. Stephen Koury is one of the best professors i have had, he explains the most complex topics with such ease. Loved all his classes.

Campus Life

10

Campus life is great if you want to be involved. Plenty of clubs to join, student events to attend. There is an Indian group as well called GISA that conducts events. Lots of basketball games.

Placement

6

There are a few research opportunities on campus but not lot of jobs in buffalo. Most people found jobs outside buffalo.

Accommodation

Off Campus
7

There is on campus housing but it’s really expensive. Off campus housing on south campus is much cheaper but hard to find a nice house.

Exams

My scores are: SAT: 1360/1600 , TOEFL: 115/120. Didn’t have to take any other exams. I didn’t have an interview but I was asked to submit a CV, 3 LORs and one SOP. It is critical to mention why you chose your course and how the university offers what you need to grow. If you are going for a graduate degree, mention what kind of research you like and if any professor at the university is doing it.

Fees

$80,000 for 4 years.

Scholarship

I didn’t receive any scholarship because I joined in the spring semester. If you join in the fall semester, they offer you scholarships with the offer letter.
