FAQs

Ques. Can I get into UCONN with a 2.8 GPA and a 27 ACT and family ties?

Ans. While family ties may add some context to your application, UConn’s admissions are competitive, with an average GPA of 4.13 for incoming students. A 2.8 GPA is below the typical range, but your 27 ACT score is strong. Admission chances depend on other factors like essays, extracurriculars, and recommendations, but it might be challenging.

Ques. How is the University of Connecticut for the business analytics program?

Ans. UConn’s Business Analytics and Project Management (BAPM) program is highly regarded, ranking #5 in the U.S. for online graduate programs in 2025. Graduates earn an average starting salary of $115,000, and the program offers strong industry connections and hands-on learning opportunities. It’s a great choice for career growth in analytics.

Ques. I have admits from UConn BAPM and UNT BA for a master’s as an international student. Which university could be the best deal considering the uncertain market?

Ans. UConn’s BAPM program has a stronger reputation, higher ROI, and better job placement rates, making it a safer bet in an uncertain market. While UNT is solid, UConn’s alumni network and global recognition give it an edge for long-term career prospects.

Ques. Initial UConn announced that I am on a waiting list and they will tell me my application status at the end of April. Is it too bad to be on the waiting list?

Ans. Being on the waitlist isn’t bad—it means UConn sees potential in your application but has limited spots. Many students get admitted off the waitlist, especially if others decline their offers. Stay proactive by submitting any updates (e.g., new grades or achievements) to strengthen your case.

Overview

My overall experience at this university has been really well. Everybody has been super welcoming and helpful and I love the environment. My apartment is very close to the university so I don’t need a car and the transportation has been really great too.

The university does provide a proper structured coursework which would touch on all parts of the basics. With the professors' real time experience and intellect, the course starts to make more sense. Apart from coursework, there are a couple of networking events the university organizes which are actually helpful for the students.

Overview

This college is in my home state and I ultimately chose it because it was the cheapest I got accepted to because I have in state tuition. I was in the top 10th percentile of my class and I got accepted into UConn’s honors program that only accepts 500 students out of an incoming class of over 6000. I chose this program because I originally thought I would transfer out but after staying for a year I really liked the school, it was big enough and had plenty of diversity and programs offered. But small enough that I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the large community. The honors program is a fantastic community.

Scholarship

I have availed academic merit scholarship and university grants.
