Miami Dade College offers a range of merit and need-based scholarships open to international students, with awards ranging from $1,000 (₹96,000) to partial tuition coverage. International students receive significantly less on average than domestic students, as they are ineligible for most federal and state funding in Florida.

The flagship awards open to Indian applicants are the MDC Scholarship Foundation Award, the MDC Honors College Fellows Award (for top applicants), and the School of Nursing Scholarship.

  • Standard Associate tuition (OOS): $9,661/year (₹9.27 Lakhs)
  • Associate tuition with MDC Foundation $5,000: $4,661/year (₹4.47 Lakhs)
  • MDC Honors College Fellows Award: Covers in-state tuition + fees + books.

International students pay the out-of-state difference; this award does not cover full out-of-state tuition. The MDC Scholarship Foundation and Honors College Fellows Award requires a separate application each semester.

Currency Note: All INR conversions use the live rate of 1 USD = ₹96 as of May 2026.

Internal MDC scholarships can stack with external scholarships. Indian Class 12 students with 85%+ should pursue the MDC Honors College Fellows Award as it provides strong internal value, keeping in mind it covers in-state tuition and fees rather than the full out-of-state cost. External Inlaks and Tata scholarships are particularly useful for supplementing living costs, which are higher in Miami than in most other Florida cities.

It was close to home and included the degree I needed. I had beforehand experience with Dual Enrollment. My mother is also part of the alumni. Due to it being in close proximity to my home address, my parents needn't worry about me falling ill and being far away, be it from physical illness or homesickness. The curriculum is also brilliant.

Scholarship

I received a scholarship as part of the honors program that covered the cost of tuition, books, transportation, and academic fees. In order to maintain the scholarship, we had to have a 3.5 to 4.0-grade point average.

Small class sizes despite being the largest higher education institution in the US. I also received grants that covered my cost of tuition and books which was really helpful and allow me to dedicate all of my time to my studies.
