FAQs

Ques: What are the problems associated with studying in the USA without the IELTS?

Ans: Skipping IELTS might limit your options to a handful of universities. Some may require alternative proof like Duolingo scores, English proficiency tests, or certificates from English-medium schools. Additionally, a lack of strong English skills can make it harder to follow lectures and adapt socially. Visa officers may also question your language readiness, complicating the process.

Ques: What is the minimum required percent and IELTS score for studying in the USA?

Ans: Most universities look for 60–70% in Class 12 for undergrads or a 3.0 GPA for master’s courses. IELTS requirements usually range from 6.0–7.0, with elite schools asking for 7.5 or higher. Always check your target university’s specific criteria.

Ques: Can we get admission to US universities without the IELTS/GRE/TOEFL?

Ans: Yes! Some universities waive these if you’ve studied in English-medium schools and scored well in Class 12 English (over 80%). Others accept Duolingo or conduct their own admission tests. GRE waivers depend on the program, especially post-pandemic trends. You must check each university’s policy for more clarity!
