MPDNLU Jabalpur Courses and Fees

MPDNLU Jabalpur offers three programme families: the 5-year BA.LLB (Hons.) at the undergraduate level, the 1-year LLM at the postgraduate level across three specialisations, and a Ph.D. in Law. Total programme fees range from INR 3,55,000 for the LLM to INR 14,67,000 for the full BA.LLB.

The LLM at MPDNLU Jabalpur is a focused 1-year programme. Students choose one specialisation at the time of admission. BA.LLB Year 1 fee is INR 3,55,000, which includes one-time enrollment charges not repeated in subsequent years. From Year 2 onwards, the annual fee is INR 2,78,000 per year.

BA.LLB (Hons.) Admission

BA.LLB admission follows the Consortium of NLUs counselling process after CLAT UG results. MPDNLU offers 120 seats split between the All India (AI) quota and the Madhya Pradesh Home State (HS) quota.

The 2026 Round 1 All India quota cutoff for General category was rank 1740. MP domicile candidates with CLAT ranks up to rank 2287 secured a seat under the Home State quota in Round 1, making MPDNLU notably more accessible for MP-domicile aspirants than for outstation candidates. The OBC Round 1 cutoff was rank 3056 and the SC cutoff was rank 11792.

LLM Admission

LLM admission is through CLAT PG scores via the Consortium of NLUs counselling. MPDNLU offers 50 LLM seats across Business Law, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Law.

MPDNLU Jabalpur Campus and Infrastructure

MPDNLU Jabalpur currently operates from a temporary campus at the BRBRAITT premises in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The permanent campus, spread over 120 acres near Jabalpur Airport, is under active construction.

The campus is Wi-Fi-enabled with a 1 Gbps leased-line internet connection across academic blocks and hostels. The library holds over 4,000 titles, 700 bare acts, journals, reference books, and access to international legal databases through the e-library. An ERP system manages admissions, attendance, and examinations.

MPDNLU Jabalpur maintains separate hostel facilities. MPDNLU has two hostels for boys and one hostel for girls. Hostel accommodation is mandatory for students who are not local residents of Jabalpur. Rooms are double-occupancy with basic furnishings, fans, coolers, and almirahs. A common room with indoor games and television, a gymnasium, and campus-wide CCTV surveillance are available.

MPDNLU Jabalpur vs HNLU Raipur vs CNLU Patna

MPDNLU Jabalpur, Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) Raipur, and Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) Patna are state NLUs that draw applicants from the CLAT mid-rank band. All three offer the same 120-seat BA.LLB programme and are admission through the Consortium of NLUs counselling.

HNLU Raipur and CNLU Patna have been operational for over two decades and carry a stronger placement track record with established permanent campuses. MPDNLU Jabalpur, however, offers MP-domicile aspirants a meaningful Home State quota advantage. Candidates who are Madhya Pradesh domicile holders and targeting a Central India NLU will find MPDNLU a strategic option, particularly in later counselling rounds when outstation seats at older NLUs become unavailable.
