Is it better to do ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) by IIIT Nagpur or Electrical Engineering by VJTI?

I have a few friends at VJTI and they are not happy with the Electrical Engineering program offered by the institute. Here are some of the things that they mentioned about the institute. In VJTI, there has been a lack of good faculties for ages. Most of the professors in VJTI lack sufficient experience to deliver proper lectures and provide proper practical exposure to students. Due to the lack of faculties in VJTI, there are walk-in interviews conducted by the institute to hire faculties. But, even in those interviews, there is no proper candidate with good enough experience. Some of the faculties are even from tier-3 colleges. There is no proper laboratory equipment available in VJTI, especially in the electrical engineering department. Almost 90% of the lab works are done through software simulations. The class timings in VJTI are not satisfactory for most students in the institute. On a usual day, classes start from 9 AM and continue till 5 PM, which most students think to be too long and hectic. Considering the above disadvantages of VJTI, ECE at IIIT Nagpur is a much better choice for students. Here is a brief overview of the ECE course at IIIT Nagpur. The fees are 247000 for the first year and 229000 for 2nd year onwards. The extra attributes in 1st year are library deposits, caution deposits, identity card fees, medical exam fees, medical aid, welfare fund.

Tution fee is around 9.2 lakhs per annum and can be paid at college reception or in the institute portal. Almost all the students will be eligible to all the central government schemes and scholarships.

IIITN the actual facts

I dont know if they will increase the fees or not but the fee structure is not that great. compared to the better nits also i would the fees is pretty high herre. iam talking about laks per year. almost 4 lakhs per year including hostel and mess. for completing 4 years you will be needing a total of 14 lakhs. the scholarships are provided by your state governments and national scholarship portal. As iam staying outside the college i havent got a chance to take the job roles or captain roles.

The tuition fee is very high when compared to other colleges.. The fee doesn't raise.. The total fee for a Student for a year would be nearly 4 lakhs .. The scholarship for students of general and OBC category are also introduced..

The academic fees of institution is 247000 while hostel fees is divided into 2 division : 1. For 4 seater -> 108000 into 2 parts odd semester 80500 and even semester 27500. 2. For 2 seaters -> 123000 into 2 parts odd semester 805000 and even 42500. The instution fess is divided into 2 parts each semester 123500. The instution give him various scholarships from various states like Maharashtra scholarship and madhya pradesh MMVY and some from telengana,Tamil Nadu etc . The college provide around 80% placement . The first company which came for incampus placement is TCS as they have 15% shares in the instution for mass recurretment for 8 Lpa.

IIIT Nagpur:- Will you live or keep on deciding for life?

The college doesn't offer a separate scholarship for any minority class nor based on your merit. You need to be accessing state scholarships(if available) for the ease of paying the fees. The fees of IIIT Nagpur is around 13-14 lakhs for 4 years with academic fees being around 2.1 lakhs per year and hostel fees being 1.2 lakhs per year. Also, the placement drive is going very poor in this college based on the long running recession. So, students are bound to look for off campus placement drives. There are companies visiting our colleges currently, but there are not big companies coming.
