IIIT Nagpur - Review

Likes

The Placements are pretty attractive. The avg package for the cse section was 15 lpa for the academic session 24 - 2025 while the median was 12lpa for the cse section
The college has a lush green campus and it feels too good to be here
Mostly All the professors are Phd holders from well known institues all over the globe

Dislikes

The college currently dosent has enough hostel rooms available for all students
Though the mess food is good, its not the best

Internships Opportunities:

Internship opportunites are avaliable for the 3rd year students,many tech/ dev /startups / finance related companies some to the campus for on campus internship selections The Stipends range from 15k per month to 2 lacs per month

Likes

the curriculum it gives very deep understanding
The peer group is nice as people come from all over India.

Dislikes

The very high fees creates a pressure on students which is not in the case of NITs.
Poorly developed and very far away from city.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our branch are pretty decent, around 70–80% students get placed, and about 70% also manage to get internships. For CSE, the average package is somewhere between 10–12 LPA, and the highest went up to 90 LPA. Companies like Amazon, TCS, Zomato, Nvidia and a few more good ones have come for recruitment. Placement chances are growing too, since Nagpur is slowly turning into an IT hub.

My views about IIIT-Nagpur

Likes

though there are less buildongs they are build great .collage has a amphiteater .
there were no grounds till now , but now a ground is built . students from year 2025 can use it.
some teachers are a lot helpful, they also know the subjects well.

Dislikes

There is only one hostel available , most of the students have to opt for PGs and private hostales.
Some Teachers dont know the subjest well enough , also some subjects are outdated in which wee need to study the stuff
Workshops are taken very Lightly. We have some clubs in our collage which do better workshops than the cource coordinators

Internships Opportunities:

i dont know much about inturnships . but i know that the Training and placemnt cell helps everyone to get an inturnship. inturnship is a compulsary thing in our collage . it is like a subject and withought that u cannot complete the degree

Likes

College Academics are more inclined towards Tech courses instead of traditional courses taught to all students of first year.
One of the emerging and going IIIT's across the India. Developing at faster rate than expected.
Students are quite skillful and placed at well known companies and startups. Students are also trying to build startups.

Dislikes

Campus life is not as expected. May get better soon but campus is still developing.
College has only one hostel building which cannot accommodate all students. Out of 2000 students around 1200 reside in hostel rest of the students have to find PGs aur flats nearby.
Connectivity with city is also one of the major issue that college faces as college is 20km away from the city Nagpur.

Companies offers SDE, Data Analyst, AI Engineer, Data Scientist, Embedded Systems Engineer,VLSI engineer type of roles. Various companies visit on campus. Students can also apply for off campus if they want. There are credits for internships compulsory.

The good experienced faculty and coding and peer culture
At IIIT Nagpur campus life is steadily evolving the institution grows

The infrastructure of the college need to br developed

Students have secured internships in top companies like amazon ,NVIDIA ,Zeotap etc... and the highest stipend per month was 95000 and that was given by Zeotap and the project based on for example developing the scalable backend systems for e-commerce platforms

I LIKE OUR CAMPUS WHICH IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND AWESOME.

THRE IS PROBELEM OF LESS SPACE IN HOSTEL.

Internships Opportunities:

THERE IS A LOT OF INTERNSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR COLLEGE FOR STUDENTS FROM FIRST YEAR TO FINAL YEAR. THERE IS ALSO A ENTERPRENEURIAL EVENTS IN WHICH MANY PROJECTS ARE MADE.MANY COMPANIES LIKE SAMSUNG GIVE INTERENSHIP OPPORTUNITIESS.

My experience at IIIT Nagpur: Good and Bad

Likes

seniors are very good in giving guidance
professors are knowledgeable and never say no for any doubts or queries regarding any concept
they conduct meeting sessions with alumni which is quiet good

Dislikes

lack of college experience, very less fests
lack of freedom for students after sunset
very less gender ratio. we have 5 girls for 60 boys in class

Placement Experience:

well, as recession period is going on. So, the average package has been less compared to the last year. the average package of 2023-24 was around 15 lakhs and highest package was around 75 lakhs and median is around 13 lakhs.

Sad but Truth

Likes

The rooms are all air conditioned the timings of classes are really flexible

Dislikes

College has limited classrooms and hostel rooms for students to study and live
The college canteen is really small and can only reside about 30-40 at max.
The college is far inside from the main road with really bad roads to drive on.

Internships Opportunities:

As promised by the faculty we were promised guaranteed internship and when we asked seniors about this, it was true and the college does provide or help students with internships that too on a stipend which could be a year long too

The college have a very good amphitheater
The plants and trees are well maintained here
The library haveany books which we can use

Dislikes

All students can not stay in the hostel half have to stay away
There is no campus life here.therw are only 4 bulding here
There is only 1 shop in the college and no cafe or anything to roam

Internships Opportunities:

Since our college is of national importance many students get selected for internship in companies around the worls(off campus) but if people ar not selected for internship.college provide internship to them

About my college

Likes

Due to being in iiit my college have good alumni netowrk and have a reputation in the market
It is based on the public private parternship
Teachers are very coordinative They all are p.h.d holders

Dislikes

College is in developing stage so college life is not there
Proper hostel is not there for students most of the students including me live outside
College location is not good it is very far from main city

Internships Opportunities:

Several internship provided by the companies like Wipro infosys TDS internship is based on the different type of jobs and roles different type of internship provide different type of pakage like Web dev app dev and many more.
