Presidency University: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 6 Reviews

Admission to the college is based on a government-allotted process that requires a standardized test for prospective engineering students. The student-to-faculty ratio is generally 50:1, improving to 20:1 in a mentoring program. While 90% of the faculty are supportive, 10% are associated with negative behaviors. Exams include one midterm and one end-term per semester, with a 10% failure rate largely due to faculty issues, and re-exams are available. The curriculum follows the Karnataka board, with all faculty holding PhDs.

Fees vary by student category, entrance exam type, and branch, with KCET students having different fees from management students. Campus placements are strong for academically active students, with companies like Tech Mahindra, HP, TCS, Tata Motors, and IBM offering salaries between 2-6 LPA. The highest package was 15 LPA, and the average is 3.5 LPA, with 60-85% of students placed annually. Internships, both domestic and international, offer stipends between 5,000-10,000 INR per month, with partnerships in Taiwan, Germany, and the USA for fully funded internships.

The placement process is slow and requires improvement for diverse streams. Since Covid, a fee concession of 15,000 to 20,000 is available, and there are scholarships at state and national levels. The Computer Science fee increases annually by 5,000 for new students, while the B.Tech EEE course fee is 105,000. KCET students can pay in two installments of around 105,293. Management fees vary by course, and multiple scholarships are accessible to students.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Most of the college fee structure is high in CS. And yeah another course to wish it was the same for all. The scholarship opportunities are good and available on time both state and nationally. I am just a 2nd-year student so I am not doing any job.

Fees and Financial Aid:

If one's gets through CET one had to pay 82 thousand approximate and there is no change in the fee structure for all the 4 years. But if one's gets on through management the fee differs for each course, for electrical it is 1.5-2 lakhs per year and the fee does not change. I am not eligible for any scholarships but if one has all documents they can get the scholarship. I am in my final year now and I am really not sure if I can get a core job as no core companies are coming for the placement drive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for Electrical and Electronics Engineering course which was not very much updated only few subjects were updated only to some extent like some old modules were changed by new updated modules, As I opted this university for one of the reason that is industrial exposure which was a good experience but there is no chance of selecting your preference company in first industry internship, but for second internship which will held for the whole last semester will be all based on your selected course only. When I joined into this university I found 90% of faculties were from BITS graduated and almost all were teaching good but year by year some of these good teachers left the university and many new facilities joined who were not able to explain the course in a interesting way which affects the student's understanding to the course. Sorry for not listing the names of good faculties.
