One of the best experiences of my Life

I absolutely love the interpersonal growth that I have noticed in myself after attending IIM Nagpur. IIM Nagpur provides an altogether new outlook on not just the career but on life as a whole.
I attended the college when it was still running from the temporary campus, it was very comfortable and homely. Now a new campus has come up in MIHAN and it one of the bests in. India.
The course is rigorous and teaches time management to its core. Greta experience!

Dislikes

I was a mid covid batch, attended the 2nd year online, the experience could have been better.

Internships Opportunities:

The college offers two internships during the entire course - Feild Immersion Program, it gives the student an opportunity to work with industries in and around Nagpur. I worked with the Forest Department of Maharashtra on a Policy Making Project. Summer internships are separate and very rich in experience.

The student background is very diverse. Students with high CAT percentile are there. Students who have previously worked at Big MNCs , Big fours like EY Deloitte etc are there. Freshers are from reputed colleges who have been toppers in their batches

Dislikes

The placement is not not very good considering its an IIM. It's a baby iim so it's understandable. It is improving. Secondly the companies are mostly startups and not big firms.

Internships Opportunities:

Summer internship opportunity is provided by the college and many big companies like Microsoft BNY ICICI Bandhan Bank IBM Suzuki TCS etc come for placements. Startups also come . Majority are startups.

The infrastructure which is very well made and all the provided facilities
The professors are highly educated and sincere

The campus is very far from the city which makes it difficult to explore the business around the surroundings
The placements were good last year but due to harsh economic conditions this year very few good companies are visiting the campus
Some faculties are visiting it get's hard to meet them in person after class

Internships Opportunities:

The summer internships at the college started around September this year and is an open season. The average package stays around 40000k, with highest upto 150000 and lowest upto 10000. The major companies visiting the campus are Aditya BIrla Capital, Adani, Fujitsu, Nexdigm Microsoft, De shaw, BNY Mellon etc. The majority of the internshis occurs in IT, BFSI, manufacturing, marketing domain etc. The major domains are Sales & marketing, general management, operations, IT etc.

Under the summer internship program in 2022, we had an average stipend of 60000. Various companies visited our college which included Bank of America, BNY Mellon, ICICI Bank, etc. Roles offered were Analyst, BD Associate, etc. But in general, in our college, Final Placements are far better than summer placements.

Fee-wise, IIM Nagpur is slightly cheaper with average fees of INR 18.1 lakhs compared to Kashipur's INR 19.2 lakhs. Placement-wise, both excel with average packages within INR 16-17 lakhs. Locationally, Kashipur is closer to industrial areas, while Nagpur offers central India access. Ranking-wise, IIM Nagpur holds a slight edge i.e 14th in NIRF vs Kashipur's 24^th.

IIM Nagpur, a rising IIM with 14th in NIRF has a strong brand and placements of avg. INR 16.5 lakhs focuses on general management. IMI Delhi, a well-established private institute is generally highly ranked, offers a wider range of specializations and might provide more flexibility.
