Ques. What is the duration and structure of the PGDTM program at NBU?
Ans. The Post Graduate Diploma in Tea Management (PGDTM) at University of North Bengal is a full-time professional course spanning 1 year, divided into 2 semesters of 6 months each. The first semester covers 500 marks with papers on tea botany, agronomy, soil and water management, pest management, and practical training. The second semester covers 500 marks with papers on general aspects of tea, biochemistry and tea manufacture, labour laws and management, tea economics, computer applications, and a dissertation project. Students are required to attend 75% of theory and practical classes and 90% attendance during garden visits.

For SAARC country candidates, the fee is Rs. 50,000, and for foreign candidates, it is Rs. 80,000. The university offers full-free and half-free studentships based on merit and financial need, along with SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD scholarships as per government norms.
