University of Calcutta Certification Korean Language: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Any candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination from a recognised board in any stream may apply. Students enrolled in or having completed an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at any recognised university are also eligible to apply.

Ans. The total programme fee is INR 1,840 for the one-year evening Certificate Course in Korean, covering tuition, admission, and the prescribed examination charges, as per the University of Calcutta Department of Languages fee notification for 2026-27.

Ans. The programme covers the Hangul script system, pronunciation, basic grammar, core vocabulary, and simple conversational patterns for everyday and professional situations. Cultural context including Korean customs, etiquette, and an introduction to Korean history and contemporary society is also included.

Ans. The Department of Languages at the University of Calcutta maintains academic exchange links with South Korean institutions, including Chonbuk National University. This connection provides students with additional cultural exposure and potential exchange learning opportunities within the framework of the department’s international engagements.
