Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

Hostel: Presidency University provides Hostel to girl students at very reasonable price and free shuttle service

Hostel Facilities:

For girls who are meritorious, Presidency University provides rooms at their girls hostel situated at Saltlake two hours alway from the campus. The hostel is newly built and one room accomodate three students. They provide beds, water and electricity at very minimal rate. The meal quality is okayish, but managable at Rs. 1340. For boys, there is a hostel near the campus where the renovation is going on with very slow pace. There are a lot of complaints among the boys students regarding the basic amenities provided at the hostel. The meals are not up to the mark, hygine is not maintained properly. Every year, the hostel reports a lot of cases of dengue and maleria.

4 seater and 8 Seater room .light and fan facilities are there . Meal Quality is very Good. Menu was too good every Wednesday Friday Sunday chicken and each of day give fish and egg. There is too many places where you get a pg or room in college Street area .

My life in Presidency

They would give fish and egg alternatively monday-Sat, though secondary curry used to taste like blunt veggies. I never really liked fish because of its smell. The best part was sunday meal, I would die for it. We would get pulao and chilli chicken, and sometimes Korma and bhaat with sweets. Sunday used to be funday. Menu were mostly made by students themselves checking the ability of cooks present in the kitchen. Chart were made 2 weeks prior from making. The locality was full of ruch people driving porsche and lamborghini so I never really fit outside my hostel.

Presidency and it's legacy

Hostel facility is also awesome. As I am a hosteler we have one of the oldest and largest hostel in Asia with an accomodation of 403 boarder, the mess system is also good.hostel rent is only 200. And hostel has awarded with Kolkata heritage title

Admission details at the presidency University

The hostel accommodation was very low in that reason all students not get admission in hostel.

Here are available 1 boys hostel (Eden Hindu Hostel) and 1 girls hostel. I am a boarder at Eden Hindu Hostel. The hostel admission fees are 2000 rupees and the per month rent is 200 rupees. The food charge is 2000-2200 rupees per month. In the hostel available a big playground.

My college life summed up in a short review

The hostel facility is fine. We have mess to provide us food but it tastes very bland so not a huge fan of it. We are charged rs960 for 30 meals per month and if there is any extra meal that we've had in that month we need to pay rs32 each for per meal.

The hostel rooms are sharing.You'll get your bed, mattress, locker, study table and chair. The hostel is huge with playground at the centre. Fees is so affordable,the bed rent of the hostel is just 200 rs. monthly.

there should be more food canteen and cafeteria cause along with studies i guess socializing is also an important aspect
Food prices in the canteen should be reduced more , and the quality of the food should also be checked time to time.

Eden Hindu Hostel , is the name of my hostel , here the accomodation is really good , the college has provided us with spacious room and clean washrooms and cooperative and flexible mess system and staff. The environment here is also really soothing and the hostel overall cost in Rs .1500 along with seat rent which is Rs. 200 .

Presidency through the eyes of a small town guy

University ignored more than one hundred students' food and shelter scarcity

There two hostel one for girls that is a little far away another is the famous Eden Hindu Hostel, the place and environment is very good but university won't provide you food, a whole building with approximately 200 students capacity is closed for no reason, neither the state government nor the university administration is concerned enough about the degrading condition of the hostel, however the students collectively have started a mess in the face of managerial hostility.

Review from the point of view rural students

The admission process of Hostel happened in every year and more than 150 students take admission.The food is good ,two times food are provided.The students who are not staying in hostel,for their the pg was available nearby campus.
