- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I was deeply interested in computers like how they function and how they operate due to which I chose this department (computer science). The faculty here in this institute is one of the best in India. They are highly trained and well qualified (They are Google scholars they had done their phd from very renowned institutes like the IIT and NIT)they teach us in a way that every topic feel interesting they take theory + lab classes to make sure we practice what is taught in the class. The exams are conducted twice in the semester and the exams aren't that hard to pass even if you have studied and paid attention in class you will surely score well.

Placement Experience:
From 6 semesters students are eligible for a placement in the college. About 200 companies are coming to college for placements like Microsoft, jpmc, Infosys, etc. and some students get good placements from off-campus, this year's highest placement is 80 lakhs and the average is 9 lakhs. 90 percent of students get placed in companies after getting a degree I got a job in the tech company.

Placement Experience:
4th year students become eligible for campus placement. Top companies visit here almost 90% average placement in the college. The highest placement was from 1cr from cse branch from Microsoft. 95% was placed in cse and 90% was placed in MME.

From 3rd year many companies came like Accenture, PWC, ICICI, BlackRock, ZS associates, and many more. All students are placed.
The highest package is offered by Adobe at 47 lpa and the average package is by TCS, Ninja is 12 lpa.
Almost 90 percent of students get placed.
I would like to take placement or do an M.Tech.

- It's environment, friendly people and studying
- Fests like food fest, cultural fest, entrepreneurship fest
- Libraries and academic blocks and canteens

- Seniority, hostel restrictions and stress
- Hostel intime restrictions and other activities
- Not able to freely roam around whole campus
Course Curriculum Overview:
I wanted the core department so I opted for MME
1 by 1 faculty and students ratio
Well qualified faculties
It's hard to pass the exams but if you study frequently then it's not that tough, following class notes

- The assignments we get in class are heally helpful if you solve them.
- The friends I got here have got my back everywhere anywhere. Hence , i like them alot.
- I love the serene and peaceful environment of NIT durgapur. Coffee in Nescafe , roll from spice delight or maths from jhoops , be it anything and proced this ans.
Dislikes
- I didnt like the stress under the Electrical Engineering departments.
- i didnt like that the neabry areas from here are very costly.
- i didnt like the duck pond being so dirty. The scene is nearer to you.
Placement Experience:
placement of our college is very good. It is one of the top NITs and hence, it offers a good placement result. It offers an average package of 16 lakhs. Many big companies like Microsoft, google, DE Shaw, and JP Morgan Co. come for the on-campus placement.

Placement cell is good and the opportunities are available in the college itself and it's upon you to go for off-campus placements as well, along with it you can opt for higher studies as well, the number of the core, as well as non-core companies, are enough for you to be placed by the campus itself.

- I like the Greenery and cleanliness of the campus.
- Classrooms are equipped with multiple ACs, Projectors and comfortable sitting arrangement for students.
- Hostel facilities provided to the student is quite good.
Dislikes
- Instability of internet in students hostel.
- Hectic academic schedule throughout the semester.
- Some old classroom do not have comfortable sitting arrangement.
Placement Experience:
Placement is increasing year by year. More than 80% of students get placed every year. The highest package offered in 2023 was 57 lpa. The average package is also good. It is around 13.5 lpa. Some PSUs like BPCL and Bharat Electronics visit the campus for recruitment. Other Major recruiters are Microsoft, Wipro, JPMC, Texas Instruments, etc.

- College life is very good we enjoy a lot we can do whatever we want.there are no restriction here we can explore our life
- Infrastructure is very good . It's also good as environment there are greenary every where hostel are good
- Student clubs so we explore new domain and learn things like web d and gd , video editing and make a personality
Dislikes
- Faculty are very strict they don't give marks and give supply and backlog to the students
- Food quality is very poor in the mess specially in veg and they. Charge high fee for this low quality food
- Slow network of wifi in the hostel and random power cuts
Placement Experience:
We are eligible for our placement in the 7th semester. Microsoft gives the highest package of 50 lacs and jpmc gives the highest package of 33 lacs.
90 percent of students get placed.
My plans are to get placed in an IT company after the placement.

- I think the college is small tho roam here and there . And nothing is there in this city and mess food should be improved

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
