- Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
- Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
- The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.
Dislikes
- We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
- I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
- There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

- Restriction in 1st year because our colledge is afraid of ragging.

For internship you are eligible from 2nd year only.
Many multinational companies visit here. Off campus placement are very good here. Highest package in campus -70 lakh and average package is around -13.64. In 2022 placement was around 85% I think. My plans are to get placement after my graduation in my branch only.

Course Curriculum Overview:
Our college's curriculum is excellent, and I'd rate it a solid 9 out of 10. It's developed by experts within our institution and includes additional tech-related activities to enhance our learning experience. With two semesters annually, each semester features a mid-term exam. Staying on top of lectures and daily assignments makes tackling these exams quite manageable.We receive the timetable well in advance, and exams are scheduled either in the morning or afternoon. Each exam lasts for 3 hours.

The students become eligible to sit for the placements during the course of the 7th semester and a variety of companies visit the campus ranging from Microsoft to LnT, Steradian.
Highest package was offered to a Mechanical Engineering student of 70LPA for a role of SDE at JPMC London. The overall average package is 13.1LPA and the branch average package is around 9-10 LPA for core branches and 20-21LPA for circuit branches.
Around 80-85% secure proper placements during the placement year.
After getting my degree, I would definitely pursue higher studies from a foreign university.

Campus placement is not very good for the current year as of recision in the market .but it is good for the core branches. Fir my branch highest recutor is the PWC and jsw companies taking almost 50-60 students from the batch..there average package approximately 10-12 lakhs

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur
- Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
- Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
- Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
- Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
- Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
- Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
- Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
Overall, NIT Durgapur is a great place if you are unable to make it to IITs.
