This programme is offered exclusively at the Forest College and Research Institute (FC&RI), Mettupalayam, which is a constituent college of TNAU located approximately 40 km north of Coimbatore, near the foothills of the Nilgiris. FC&RI is situated within the Jakanari Reserved Forest, providing students with direct access to forest ecosystems for field-based learning and research. Students admitted to this programme will study and reside at the Mettupalayam campus, not the main TNAU Coimbatore campus. The campus has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with a combined capacity of 500 students.

Ans. No. As per both TNAU and ICAR eligibility norms, only candidates holding a B.Sc. (Forestry) or B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry degree of 4 years duration are eligible to apply for this programme. B.Sc. Agriculture graduates are not eligible for this specific specialisation. This is because the programme requires foundational knowledge of forest science, dendrology, and silviculture that is covered in the B.Sc. Forestry curriculum. Candidates with B.Sc. Agriculture degrees may explore other M.Sc. programmes at TNAU such as Environmental Science, Agronomy, or Soil Science for which they are eligible.
